Wow, what an high-energy week at MidwestCon, where great minds descended on Cincinnati to discuss the most pressing issues in #AI and technology. Rob Richardson curated a diverse set of panels and keynotes with an important theme threading them together: What are we doing as technologists, creators, and policy-makers doing to ensure technology actually helps humanity? A simple question that is packed with complex nuances. It was a pleasure to meet so many leaders tackling this question in different ways, and I thank you for allowing me to share space with you all. Special thanks to my fellow panelists in discussing Empathy’s role in Design and AI: John B Johnson, Aida Ramusovic-Witham, Charon, and Helen Todd (Human).
