Anwen Baumeister was just 13 when she discovered yoga at Bikram San Rafael, practicing five times a week. Growing up in Marin, she felt isolated due to the area's hilly terrain and housing layout. Yoga became her anchor, helping her connect with herself and others on a similar journey. After completing yoga teacher training in India, Anwen's passion for yoga only deepened. Now, she's thrilled to share her love of wellness with the community through the launch of The Portal--a new wellness center with many offerings, including several types of yoga classes: a flow class, focused on rhythmic movements; a power class focused on strength building; and a Kundalini class focused on inner energy and awareness--and more! #yogajourney #wellness #selfcare #yoga

The word “Talent” has been one that has been over abused for so many years to the point that sometimes I personally get confused what talent really means. The dictionary defines Talent as a “natural aptitude or skill”. This means that Talent is NATURAL. But what can we consider NATURAL? The dictionary again sees Natuaral as “existing in or caused by nature; not made or caused by humankind”. From these definitions, we can agree that not every skill or performance qualifies as Talent. For example, I do not consider Dancing, Running, Playing Soccer or other sports etc as Talent. Why? Because all these are man made. There would be no soccer player if the soccer ⚽️ (Ball) wasn’t created. There would be no basketball player without the creation of the Basketball 🏀. There would be no dancer without music. Running/athletics has everything to do with your physical body stature and so are other sports. Singing can be a Talent because some people simply have skill of joining words together in a melodious way. A few people may attempt to learn how to sing, but that does not make them Talented. Artistry 🧑🎨 ✍️ can be a Talent. Some people are just naturally gifted in drawing. Few people can try to learn, but we cannot call them talented. As for dancing, I do not even consider it a Talent because anyone can learn how to dance, and indeed whether you are good or not is a matter of who is watching you. The same applies to all manner of sports. Anyone with the needed physical stature, with long hours of practice and dedication can muster the craft. Talent, therefore, in my view is intrinsically rooted and manifested in the creative power of the mind. For that is the only variable that sets one apart from the noisy population and copycats. What do you think? FYI: Attached is a photo of the writer in his soccer moments. 😀

New post on PTNetwork.com. The cultural environment is created and cultivated by the coach, but is organically created by the athletes. The right coach, in the right program, with the right athletes makes a difference. Too often toxic coaches create their own toxic fiefdoms to the detriment of those around them - to the extent of having deleterious effects on the program, department or business. Enjoy! https://lnkd.in/g5wnEk6V

Visual storytelling helps to keep the audience engaged. It’s one of the challenges that filmmakers today are overcoming as so much of what we see today is the person talking and cutting back and forth. We are human, so we like what we are used to, but understanding how to set a stage, tell a story using the framing can help anyone creating content better understand how to keep your audience engaged without the need to only show a talking head. https://lnkd.in/es3gUJ_Y
