In this case Dr. Fritz Wodarg treated an unstable carotid web with the #CARESTO #heal #Stent. The patient suffered from a previous stroke caused by a M2/M3 occlusion that was recanalized. Subsequent CT-A showed the prevalence of a carotid web at the right bifurcation. The #NeuroSlider 52 DLC pro Catheter was used to profit from the higher flexibility and to prevent the sheath from being pushed out of the target zone during the stent delivery. The catheter was prepared together with the Dilator ex vivo and navigated through the stenosis without problems. A #tapered 6.0/8.0 x 35 mm CARESTO heal Stent was used to ensure the optimal device performance beside the 2 mm calibre jump from the ICA to the CCA. The tapered stent is designed to adjust varying vessel diameters from distal to proximal. The stent released smoothly achieving complete vessel wall adaption leaving the natural course of the carotid nearly unchanged. The final DSA showed a residual stenosis degree of 5% and stasis between the stent and the vessel wall right after the carotid web.

Cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) rupture is a common injury we can treat in dogs using the Tibial Tuberosity Advancement technique. The CCL is a ligament that connects the femur to the tibia and supports the function of the knee joint. However, the CCL can be prone to injury, similar to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in people. The CCL can be injured in one of two ways; either as an acute (sudden) rupture, or over time with the ligament slowly tearing and degrading. #CuttingEdgeSurgical
