Dear Life Science job aspirants, here are 20 tips that you should keep in mind throughout your job search process. 1.    Explore diverse non-research career paths. 2.    Network beyond academic circles. 3.    Tap on the value of internships. 4.    Believe in your capabilities. 5.    Utilize the power of LinkedIn. 6.    Understand the importance of soft skills. 7.    Work on your communication and presentation. 8.    Identify your transferable skills and showcase them. 9.    Realize the power of personal branding and build one. 10.  Create a roadmap and work towards your goals consistently. 11.  Identify roles that would suit your interests and long-term aspirations. 12.  Strategically identify and apply for industry positions. 13.  Use your research skills to identify industry trends. 14.  Go beyond the online job applications. 15.  Tailor your cover letter for each application. 16.  Customize your resume for non-academic jobs. 17.  Add industry-specific keywords in your applications/cover letters. 18.  Customise every message you send across any platform (even offline). 19.  Please stop listening to every myth that’s floating out there about industry jobs. And last but not the least, seek guidance from industry experts. Interact with those who are employed in your target roles. They can tell you more than any course or any research article out there.
