Driving my red Tiguan through the winding hills of Franklin County this morning, crisp air and even crisper shirt on, I caught the first signs of the leaves starting to turn. It reminded me of an old dream I used to have as a kid—a dream where I’d find a box of treasure buried deep in these hills. The dream was vivid. I remember standing in a clearing, with golden light streaming through the trees, digging until I found the chest, old and weathered, but filled with riches.
The dream always stuck with me, and today, while thinking about it, something clicked. We’re all hunting for that treasure, aren’t we? In B2B sales, especially in telecom, that treasure might be that perfect deal, that breakthrough connection, or even that long-term relationship with a client. But here’s the catch: the treasure is already there. We just have to know where to dig.
As I was reflecting on this, I recalled something I recently read about the stories we carry within us and the importance of mindset. The idea is that when you stop focusing on what you lack and instead focus on what you already *are*, what you’re *already capable of*, things start to shift. In *every* interaction, we bring our own potential forward, and that’s where the real magic happens.
So today, as I head out to meet clients, I’m thinking about how every step we take is a step toward finding that treasure—whether it’s in the hills of Franklin County or in the connections we make in our work. The truth is, we’re all performing a valuable service. We’re the ones building bridges, solving problems, and ensuring the wheels of communication keep turning for businesses and communities alike. And, much like my dream of digging for treasure, sometimes the most valuable rewards come from where we least expect them.
