After a nearly two week tour of the Middle East, this is my last flight, so time for a countdown:
7 flights: Just over 8,000 miles flown, the same distance William Churchill and I covered last year in our challenge to drive around the world. More at www.vantageworldtour.com.
6 new meetings: Great to be extending our investor network.
5 cities: Jeddah has the friendliest taxi drivers, “Hello brother!”
4 countries: I hadn’t been to Qatar for a while, so enjoyed being back there.
3 airlines: Saudia have won my loyalty with hot mini pizzas.
2 time zones: And none too bad workwise with the UK on British Summer Time.
1 near constant question: When will interest rates start to fall?
0 gym visits: Combined with room service portions, this is not ideal.
A positive trip, with a general view that 2024 is the year to get back into real estate. Just need a tickle down on the interest rates and the mood (like me) will be flying again.
All the best, Philip.
