Veterans supporting Veterans! In a recent interview with Infantry #marine #veteran Brandon Hagar (IG: hagar_thefitbear), we discussed the athletic expectations while serving especially from his lens of being in the Marines. Our conversation touched on the extremes that can arise while serving in the military, leading to unhealthy practices like yo-yo dieting, binge drinking, and emotional stress. Such practices can take a toll on one's body. Brandon's guidance in making healthy, long-lasting changes is admirable. His approach, which delves into the emotional and mental aspects of fitness, helps in making long-lasting, sustaining behavior changes. It's always inspiring to see Veterans taking care of their mind, body, and spirit. Let's continue to support each other in this journey.

Founder of Aerial Resupply Coffee | 4x Dad of the Year Award Winner | 2x Entrepreneur | Army Veteran
We’re going to need a bigger boat. So, I spent some time in 1st Cavalry Division. If you weren’t aware, the 1st Cavalry Division patch is the largest patch in the Army. Back when I was a wee Staff Sergeant, I took one of my Soldiers to a promotion board. The Command Sergeant Major asked him to talk about the patch. The kid blanked and then said…. “Well, it’s the largest, and if someone makes one bigger, you can damn sure count on 1CD outdoing it.” After the laughter died down, he passed. The Navy is a lot like this. Or - it’s how it appears on the outside looking in. Lots of “bigger is better” - except of course with Littoral ships. (Too soon?) The Coast Guard, on the other hand, seems to be in the same position as the Marine Corps in that everything is some variation of a hand me down. If I have that wrong - then so be it. Feel free to correct me, as I know not what I’m talking about completely. Again - just my perspective. Of course, the missions are different. So the size of the boat matters. One is about saving lives. The other is about taking lives. Context matters. Either way - props to both branches. 🇺🇸 Stay caffeinated Aerial Resupply Coffee® #veterans #coffee #marketing #military #transitioningmilitary

I wrote a white paper a few years ago about the value of hiring veterans, and the paper is as true today as it was the day it was published. Thank you to each and every one of our veterans for your service to our great country! If you're interested, you can read the article here: https://lnkd.in/eBvKNvF
For the fifth year in a row, our department has been recognized by the Texas Workforce Commission and the Texas Veterans Commission as a "We Hire Vets" employer. More than 32% of our officers are veterans, with four having served in the Army, two in the Navy, six in the Marine Corps, and one in the Air Force. Since World War II, the City of Lake Worth has had a strong partnership with the military and defense communities, and we're proud to continue the tradition of service within our police department through our veterans and department members. Here's to another five years! #WorthIt

Non-Traditional Talent Programs @ Verizon | #LinkedinMusicCity | SkillBridge & Apprenticeship Program Leader | TN Army National Guard
On July 17, 1944, a massive explosion at the Port Chicago Naval Magazine in California, caused by the detonation of over 2,000 tons of munitions, killed 320 people, mostly African American sailors, and injured over 390. A month after the explosions sailors still experienced unsafe working conditions refused to unload ammo ships, and 50 were charged with mutiny. Multiple administrations were involved in reviewing the case and in 2000 a federal judge fully exonerated those who were convicted. This year, on the 80th anniversary of the explosion the US Navy has overturned their courts martial and awarded them an honorable discharge. The experiences of our fathers, and grandfathers in their military service shape our own opinion of whether or not to serve. We look at the conditions they lived through, and conduct of their leaders. Our generation of service members are continuing to try to make our military better to ensure that younger folks want to serve. As many friends, mentors and fellow veterans say it is a successful veteran who is the best recruiter. Those who are in leadership positions now must understand the impact of their actions on all decisions we make for those who are in our chains of command. I understand the challenges commanders face when service members request time away from units for #skillbridge or other programs. It could effective the operational effectiveness of the unit, but what will effect it more is not enough people joining the military. Leadership is choosing the hard right, over the easy wrong. People are always important and should be treated with dignity and respect. 80 years later, I am glad to see this decision by the Navy. #militaryservice #leadership #friday #usnavy #veterans

Protecting our Freedom goes on 24/7/365.
"We lost 15 of our Special Operations teammates... they made the ultimate sacrifice and remind us of the utmost devotion to duty present in our formations. Never forgetting our fallen and supporting their families remains our sacred obligation." USSOCOM Commander Gen. Bryan Fenton speaking to the Senate Armed Services Committee in April about our fallen #SOF and supporting Gold Star Families. This Memorial Day weekend we stop to reflect. #Honor #Remember

#Reminder: 🧱 Brick orders run through Sunday, March 31. 🧱 🧱 Leave a lasting legacy to a family member or loved one that served in a branch of the United States Armed Forces with the Town of Jupiter’s Veterans Memorial Legacy Brick program. 🧱 The Town of Jupiter Veterans Memorial was opened in 2020 and is dedicated to remembering and honoring the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces, as well as those Gold Star families who have had a loved one make the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. How the Legacy Brick Program will work: 🧱 Each brick will have two options: 1. A message with no branch insignia: these bricks will include four (4) lines of text, with a maximum of 21 characters per line. 2. A message containing a branch insignia: these bricks will include an insignia of the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard as well as four (4) lines of text with 15 characters per line. • All bricks will be a red charcoal color to match the current bricks found at the Veterans Memorial. • Each brick will cost $100, which will include the production of the brick as well as its installation. • Space is limited and bricks will be placed on a first-come, first-served basis. If the space sells out, the Town will explore additional areas after the completion of the construction of the new Town Hall building. 🚫 No political statements will be allowed as a part of this memorial program. The Town of Jupiter reserves the right to refuse any message or the placement of a brick. 🔗 For more information and to order a brick, visit https://lnkd.in/eJ38esAt.
