“I chose to study with University College Dublin (UCD) as it has a good reputation and offers high-quality education, and decided to pursue the Bachelor of Business Studies (Honours) (Management) Degree with UCD as a Management role involves a level of human touch that is not easily replaced by Artificial Intelligence (AI) nor robots. UCD has a wonderful overseas and local teaching team, and the lecturers made the concepts more relatable by combining theories with real-life examples from their own experiences or the news. The lecturers were also helpful in ensuring that my doubts were clarified. This programme has provided me with a thorough understanding of the management field and how a company works. With the knowledge I have gained through the programme, I will be able to apply my learning to my future work and gain competitive advantages that can enhance my opportunity for a better position within an organisation. Kaplan took good care of me throughout my studies in Singapore as having come from overseas and being in an unfamiliar environment, I could then focus better on my studies. The friendly and efficient staff have made my experience with UCD and Kaplan a great one.” 👉 Learn more about the programmes offered by University College Dublin: http://bit.ly/KSG-UCD #KaplanTheChoice #KaplanAchievers #UniversityCollegeDublin #UCDatKaplan #IndustryRelevant #Degree #BusinessStudies #Management

In the quest to define what constitutes a truly Future Ready education, Charterhouse Malaysia embraces a holistic approach that prepares our students to be the architects of their futures. As we integrate cutting-edge technology and global interconnectedness into our curriculum, we continually return to a pivotal question: What role do we, as human beings, play in shaping the future alongside and in response to the rise of artificial intelligence? Our commitment to developing a broad spectrum of human intelligences underscores the belief that our humanity—our ability to think critically, empathise, innovate, and lead with ethical consideration—is what will define our place in the future. This is not a journey we embark upon alone. We invite fellow educators to reflect on these essential components of a Future Ready programme: Critical Thinking and Innovation: How are we fostering environments that encourage inventive problem-solving and a deep understanding of complex issues? Emotional Intelligence and Empathy: In what ways are we nurturing students' abilities to connect, collaborate, and lead with compassion in an increasingly digital world? Adaptability and Resilience: How are we preparing students to navigate change with agility and a positive mindset? Ethical Leadership: What strategies are in place to cultivate a sense of responsibility and moral courage among future leaders? Global Awareness: How are we ensuring that students appreciate their role within a global community, equipped to address global challenges with insight and integrity? As we ponder the integration of AI into education, it is crucial to consider how we maintain our humanity at the core of learning experiences. Are we shaping a future in which technology serves to amplify our human capacities, or are we passively adapting to a world defined by algorithms? We believe that a Future Ready education is one that places humans at the forefront—empowering students not just as learners, but as empathetic innovators and ethical leaders. What additional traits, characteristics, or elements do you consider vital in preparing students for this nuanced future? #FutureReadyEducation #EducationalLeadership #HumanCentricLearning #InnovativeEducation #GlobalCitizenship #CriticalThinking #EmotionalIntelligence #EthicalLeadership #Adaptability #Resilience

Delighted to speak at the Times Higher Education Asia Universities Summit in Malaysia! Thank you Times Higher Education Sunway University Sibrand Poppema for the excellent work in organizing this event. I look forward to engaging with the excellent colleagues! 🔹Don't miss our panel: "Innovative approaches to curriculum design and skill development." This panel will delve into strategies, technologies and philosophies that transform the way we educate and prepare students for the future. We will address the following questions: 🔹How can higher education institutions strike a balance between specialisation and a holistic education approach? 🔹Should we have a more student-centric curriculum design? 🔹What role can data analytics and learner feedback play in shaping this? 🔹Should we rethink and move away from traditional grading and assessment methods towards a more holistic assessment/evaluation of students’ skills and abilities? 🔹What strategies can enhance skills – such as critical thinking, problem solving and adaptability – to equip students for careers that do not yet exist? Should we add value-centric skills to this? 🔹Can emerging technologies such as AI, virtual reality and online learning platforms be leveraged to revolutionise curricula? One of the highs in my professional and educational journey. This semester I have enrolled as a cross-registrant student at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in addition to my graduate studies at Harvard University. Trying to harness the collective knowledge and resources of these esteemed institutions, further broadening my skill set and increasing exposure. At MIT, I've enrolled in two amazing courses. Firstly, I'm diving into the world of 'System Dynamics for Business and Policy,' a field born right here at MIT. This course offers a unique perspective and a powerful set of conceptual tools to comprehend the structure and dynamics of complex systems. Through rigorous modeling methods, developing formal computer simulations and systems thinking instead of improving single variables, ultimately designing more effective policies and organizations—which is an important skill for tackling multifaceted challenges. Secondly, I'm delving into the realm of 'Strategy,' exploring the intricacies of decision-making and long-term planning in organizations. With direct mentorship from the leading experts in the field and the authors of the books that we studied at the undergraduate level in Pakistan, I hope to deepen my understanding of the principles of strategy and their application to real-world scenarios. This opportunity to study at MIT Sloan is something I couldn't have imagined hardly a year ago. I hope I can get the most out of this opportunity and create a real impact in the field. I am at a loss for words when expressing my gratitude to all the Teachers, Mentors, Professors, Institutions, and most importantly the vision inculcated by my parents that have made this journey possible. The learning continues…. #MIT #Harvard #Education #SystemDynamics #Strategy #Opportunity #LearningJourney

📅 Don't forget to register for our next webinar | Time to integrate work and learning in university qualifications Companies that interact with universities commonly do so to provide a time-limited placement for a student. Such arrangements are often highly valuable for the business and the student. However, for the benefit of all, the time has come to significantly upscale learning and work interactions between companies, universities and students during a student’s learning journey. Why? 💡 Accelerating technology and work environment changes mean knowledge and skills are changing more quickly too. For students, being immersed in a work environment builds the valued characteristics of agility, resilience and critical thinking more quickly alongside relevant technical/specialist knowledge. Increasingly industry is therefore an essential partner to ensure that the learning students experience is relevant and of good quality. Indeed, increasingly industry must be the learning environment that students experience. Our expert panel will explore: ◾ the overwhelming case for widespread work-integrated learning (WIL) ◾ the breadth of WIL forms, from micro-placements through to degree apprenticeships ◾ policy directions and ◾ current support and resources for companies and universities. Joining our panel will be: - Luke Sheehy, CEO, Universities Australia - Michael O'Connor, President ACEN - Australian Collaborative Education Network, professional assoc for Work Integrated Learning - Erika Hughes, Commercial Director Integra Systems & Integra TransForm Hosted by Megan Lilly, Executive Director Ai Group Centre for Education and Training Join us 11:00am AEDT Wednesday 5 June - link to register below 👇 #educationandtraining #skills #workintegratedlearning

"Despite performing well in the study, Singapore students did not think of themselves as creative. Just 64 per cent of them said they were confident or very confident of being creative, compared with the OECD average of 73 per cent." Our latent creativity will bear little fruit in the global economy unless it is paired with confidence, because risk-taking requires dare. I don't think it is simply a matter of humility or Asian reticence about our own abilities. I suspect that our fear, that we may excel academically but pale in comparison when it comes to innovation, may have become a self-fulfilling prophecy, in that this very belief limits our ability to act creatively, even if we can think creatively. What's clear is that we have to start challenging our own narratives about ourselves, or at least about the next generation. Only then will we be free to create.

Intelligence: A Matter of Low Latency, Not Education We often equate intelligence with education, believing that formal learning is the ultimate measure of someone's intellectual capability. But what if intelligence is something else entirely—something much simpler and yet profoundly complex? I see intelligence as a low latency between exposure and understanding. It's the ability to grasp new concepts quickly, to adapt, to solve problems, and to apply knowledge across different contexts. This is not something that can be wholly defined by degrees, certifications, or years spent in classrooms. Education is important, but it's simply organized knowledge focused on specific areas. It’s a structured approach to learning that often limits itself to the parameters of a given field. While valuable, education does not encompass the full spectrum of intelligence. Think about it: some of the brightest minds in history were not formally educated in the traditional sense. They were thinkers, inventors, problem solvers, and creators. They possessed a unique ability to connect dots, to see patterns others missed, to challenge the status quo. Their intelligence lay not in the titles they held or the institutions they attended, but in their capacity to understand and innovate. So, what does this mean for us today? It means we should shift our perspective. Just because someone hasn't had the opportunity or desire to pursue formal education does not mean they lack intelligence. Many people have the capacity for intelligence. It shows up differently in each of us, shaped by our experiences, interests, and environments. Let's move beyond the narrow definitions and embrace a broader view of what it means to be intelligent. Recognize the diverse forms of intelligence all around us—in our colleagues, our friends, and even those who society might overlook. It's time to redefine intelligence as the ability to understand quickly, to adapt, and to grow. #Intelligence #Education #GrowthMindset #Adaptability #ContinuousLearning #PersonalDevelopment #DiversityInThinking #EmbraceDifferentPerspectives #UnderstandingOverDegrees #ValueAllVoices

It's always a privilege to share Western Governors University's story and learnings with other leaders in #HigherEd. Earlier today I had the opportunity to share how we're endeavoring to improve lives, one by one, through a unique learning model that puts students at the center of everything we do. For too long, it's been accepted that a given class will have high achievers, a segment of students who do all right, and another segment who fail. Yet research has shown that most students—90%—can master learning materials when given sufficient time. This begs the question: why do we continue to lump students together and require that they progress at the same time, with little care as to whether they've mastered the knowledge, skills, and abilities they'll need to succeed in their careers and lives? In contrast to traditional models of #education where time is constant but learning varies, Competency-Based Education flips the paradigm by measuring skills and learning rather than time spent in the classroom. #ThomasFriedman said it best: “Institutions must move from a model of ‘time served’ to a model of ‘stuff learned.’ Because increasingly the world does not care what you know. Everything is on Google. The world only cares, and will only pay for, what you can do with what you know. . . . We’re moving to a more competency-based world where there will be less interest in how you acquired the competency….and more demand to prove that you mastered the competency.” #IFEConference #Innovation Tecnológico de Monterrey IFE Conference - Institute for the Future of Education Conference
