Every Sunday I share an Open Source Tool from the Cloud Native Ecosystem. Today: CloudNativePG. CloudNativePG is a opensource Kubernetes operator that covers the full lifecycle of a PostgreSQL database cluster with a primary/standby architecture, using native streaming replication. It is designed to manage PostgreSQL workloads on any supported Kubernetes cluster running in private, public, hybrid, or multi-cloud environments: https://lnkd.in/dNY7d5x2. #kubernetes #openshift #database #operator #opensource #OpenSourceSunday ___ Did you know about this tool? Kubernetes Operator to sync secrets between different secret backends and Kubernetes Here at Digitalis we love vals, it's a tool we use daily to keep secrets stored securely. We also use secrets-manager on the Kubernetes deployment we manage. Inspired by these two wonderful tools we have created this operator. #devopskhan

🚀 Day 44/90: Deploying a Three-Tier Application on Kubernetes! 🎉 Successfully deployed a three-tier application on Kubernetes, and here’s what I learned: 🌐 1️⃣ Efficient Network Separation: Created separate Kubernetes services for the frontend, backend, and database, ensuring smooth inter-component communication. 🖥️ 2️⃣ Service Discovery & Load Balancing: Used ClusterIP and NodePort services for internal routing and external access. 🚦 3️⃣ Scaling with Deployments: Set up Kubernetes deployments for easy scaling and management of pods. 🛠️ 4️⃣ Persistent Storage: Ensured data consistency using persistent volumes for the database component. 📊 Kubernetes makes deploying even complex architectures simple! Check out my blog for the full breakdown. 👇 #90DaysOfDevOps #Kubernetes #CloudComputing #DevOpsJourney #TechLearning #Microservices #Containers #TechInnovation

Excited to share a new open source project I've been working on: The File Transfer Synchronization solution for AWS! 🚀 This serverless architecture automates the process of syncing remote SFTP repositories with S3 buckets, making it easier than ever to manage file transfers at scale. Key features: * Monitors remote SFTP servers using AWS Transfer Family SFTP Connectors * Detects and Transfers missing or updated files automatically * Supports recursive synchronization of entire folder structures * Fully serverless for cost-effective and scalable operations The solution leverages AWS EventBridge Scheduler, Step Functions, and Transfer Family SFTP Connectors to create a robust, automated file transfer system. If you're looking to streamline your file transfer processes or just curious about serverless architectures on AWS, check out the GitHub repo for more details and deployment instructions: https://lnkd.in/ew-jek_v I'd love to hear your thoughts or experiences if you give it a try. Let's connect and discuss how this solution might benefit your projects! Thanks to Vinamra Jain for the support during this process and Chan Nyein Zaw and Portia Kgotleng for testing the solution. #AWS #OpenSource #Serverless #FileTransfer #SFTP #CloudComputing #TransferFamily

goqite goqite (pronounced Go-queue-ite) is a persistent message queue Go library built on SQLite and inspired by AWS SQS (but much simpler). Features 1. Messages are persisted in a SQLite table. 2. Messages are sent to and received from the queue, and are guaranteed to not be redelivered before a timeout occurs. 3. Support for multiple queues in one table. 4. Message timeouts can be extended, to support e.g. long-running tasks. 5. A job runner abstraction is provided on top of the queue, for your background tasks. 6. A simple HTTP handler is provided for your convenience. 7.No non-test dependencies. Bring your own SQLite driver. https://lnkd.in/gp-y4Mig #golang #golangdeveloper
