🔴 ALERT: There's an increasing trend in #Karachi by new political parties that is to organize Jalsas on narrow public roads completely surrounded by residential communities and blast high-frequency speakers throughout 24 Hours. Upon asking they usually say that they have the permit from DC and SHO of the respected area which by every means is a fundamental violation of the law. The permit to hold such Jalsas can never be granted for densely populated residential areas; rather, for open places such as grounds or parks that are at a significant distance from densely populated residential neighborhoods. Sadly, this precedent that totally goes against the Islamic, cultural, as well as constitutional values, was initially set by 'Jamaat-e-Islamli' specifically at Sharah-e-Quaideen, which is now being followed by political entities in the likes of Marakzi Muslim League and others, as also evident in this video. WHAT NOW? The civilians of Pakistan must learn about their basic human and civil rights and challenge such criminal offenses at every level through all channels possible. Otherwise, anyone would bulldoze your mandate and peace in the cruelest ways at their disposal. Knowing and standing for your rights with courage is not a privilege, it is a responsibility, it is a necessity. HOW? - Know your constitutional rights and maintain connections with a reputable and dignified lawyer of the Court (High Court preferably). - Reach out to concerned departments ASAP with a written application/FIR and digital evidence against the suspects responsible for the offense. - Keep a consistent follow-up of your action with the concerned department and higher authorities. - Never compromise on your principled stance. Highlight the issue on all available public forums, and utilize mediums of mass communication, such as Facebook, Twitter (X), TikTok, etc. - Stay resilient, stay informed, stay vigilant, and have faith.
