Hi Everyone, I am excited to share my recent publication with Prof. Vanita Singh & Prof. M Sivakami, titled "Rising premature menopause and variations by education level in India", published with Nature Scientific Reports! You can read the article at the link: https://lnkd.in/gn9GqzDN The study examines the concerning rise of premature menopause among Indian women in the 30-39 age group. Here are some key takeaways: 1. Education plays a significant role, as women with lower education are seven times more likely to experience premature menopause. 2. Surgical menopause, poverty, rural residence, and female sterilization are also contributing factors. 3. Hysterectomy accounts for a substantial portion (73%) of the disparity in premature menopause rates between educational groups. This highlights the crucial need for education in empowering women with knowledge and access to alternative, less invasive treatment options. #menopause #prematuremenopause #education #india #srep #womenhealth #gender #nfhs5 #publichealth
