This is certainly in my area of expertise & experience; here is what I will say about pre-employment testing et al:
1) These things are mostly a "snapshot", they only show NOW, they are NOT predictive of what someone can/will become in the future.
2) If you know the role you can structure your answers to fit...it's not rocket science. This just encourages dishonesty and answer structuring which, DOES NOT give you a clear view of the candidate.
3) These tools can be complex. Without extensive knowledge and understanding, these tools can be confusing and actually lead to mis-hiring due to lack of full understanding of the tool and the results.
4) These are NOT predictive of success...NOT IN ANY WAY, period!
5) DO NOT burden new hires with massive testing and pre-employment work that is unpaid, it's a bad look and most smart candidates will walk...this garbage benefits NO ONE except your ego, don't make it about YOU, cause it's not! If you can't hire without these, there is more wrong, and it ain't the candidate!!!
My suggestion, depending on your industry, provide a simple < 5 minute EQ test, it will do more for your hiring than anything else you can invest in. lean into aligning your hiring to your culture and stick to it!
