Yesterday as @vickynoufal and I made the 4-hour drive to the beach for our @platinumgrouprealestate team’s annual goal setting and business planning retreat … we talked the entire time. One particular conversation was so good that we didn’t realize that she was completely ignoring the GPS and we were going the wrong direction until the guarded gates of the Naval base we were driving up to appeared. Oops. 😂 The conversation we were so into centered around the question, “what would you do if you weren’t afraid.” We set the goals. We make the business plans. But there’s often a catch. We dream big … but only so big. Because we are afraid. Afraid to make a mistake. Afraid to lose business. Afraid to upset others. We cling to what we have … knowing it isn’t the right thing, or the best thing, it’s just the so-so thing, because we are afraid to disrupt the status quo. To shake things up. We’re afraid of the discomfort. Our theme for this year’s retreat is “Dare to Dream”. I didn’t make the connection when we were having this conversation yesterday, but it fits just right.
