Over the last 50 years, California's total vineyard area grew by 383,000 acres (+77%). In 1971, raisin grapes accounted for the largest share (50% of CA's total vineyard area). However, while raisin decreased by 110,000 acres, the wine grape area surged (+435,000 acres, +242%) and now accounts for 70% of CA's total vineyard area. #winehistory https://lnkd.in/e66kNjsF
