Those are the technical specs of the new Red Bull RB17 Hypercar unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed yesterday. Still not impressed? What if I told you that the car has a downforce to drag ratio that makes it more like an aircraft than a car. That means it is capable of speeds in corners previously unheard of. If that doesn’t impress you, let me take it a step further. That means that the RB17 is roughly one second FASTER than a Formula 1 car. In simulation testing, the car went around Silverstone nearly 1 second faster than George Russell’s pole sitting time of 1:25.819. It’s truly an incredible showcase of what Formula 1 teams would be capable of without the technical restraints within the race series itself. Not only that, but from a marketing perspective the car is brilliant. The launch of the car has not only created a lot of buzz, but for the 50 lucky people that have $6.4 million, they won’t just get a car. They get a lifestyle.
