On that day, 3 years ago, Covalo was launched in the market after 2+ years working on the project 🎂⭐ 🥂 🚀🦩 In the middle of the in-cosmetics Global preparation rush, it's good to take a moment to reflect on the time passed and celebrate the progress made... Here are a few highlights from this 3rd anniversary: ⭐1.5x our team 🦩 (+ 4 Covalo babies) ⭐ 2.5x our number of users, now coming from 145 countries ⭐ 3x our number of customers ⭐4x our recurring revenues ⭐ Full integration of in-cosmetics Discover with Covalo ⭐ Became the world's largest ingredients platform in the cosmetics industry ⭐ Received a grant from the Swiss innovation agency to work on the world's first AI-driven recommendation engine for sustainable alternatives ⭐ 10 fairs attended on 3 continents, countless customer visits, 2 team offsites ✈ ⭐ Launched our ambassador network (more on this soon!) ⭐ 2 new offerings for brands and suppliers and made our first steps into Food On a personal level it was also the year of many first times: ⭐ Pitch at Web Summit on the main stage in Lisbon ⭐ First speech at White Label World Expo in Las Vegas ⭐ First time on TV with Le Figaro (soon to be released!) ⭐ First Podcast recording with Formula Botanica ⭐First episode of own podcast "Faces of the Beauty Industry" with Richard Illi ⭐First sales coaching sessions with the great Lars Conrad OLY ⭐First founders' leadership coaching sessions ⭐First time doing bobsleigh Looking back this year has been incredibly intense, tiring and nerves racking at times, pushed us more than once outside our comfort zone, but was probably the most rewarding thus far! There were 3 auto brands in this year's Interbrand's Top 10 Best Global Brands including Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, & BMW.   Automotive brand value rose by 9% in 2023, with BMW (#10) entering the top ten for the first time (#10). Porsche (#47) Hyundai (#32) and Ferrari (#70) all achieved a double-digit rate of growth and accounted for three of the top five fastest-growing brands. I've been following the progression of the non-alc category for some time. One thing that continues to strike me - as both an observer, and a newly sober consumer - is the wide spectrum of moods that a new generation of drinks brands are hoping to elicit. Whilst many drinkers are, of course, simply looking for a 0.0 substitution for their favourite gin or beer - there is an emergent swathe of consumers looking for new feelings, new tastes, and new memories. Designing for this requires fresh frameworks, openness to change, and even a touch of temerity. This is my first take on what that framework might look like. I've called it the Mood Map 1.0 because i'm certain, in time, this will need updating as the breadth and specificity of desired moods widens. Needless to say, this is a category i'm passionate about. If you're a drinks / wellness professional, working in the hospitality space, or simply a fan of the category - let's chat.
