I still remember the Friday nights of my childhood—heading to a video store with my family, excited to pick out the latest movie. It was a ritual, walking down those aisles, carefully choosing a DVD. The excitement could make one feel on top of the world and nothing else mattered. Blockbuster felt untouchable back then. They were everywhere, the kings of movie rentals. And honestly, we couldn’t imagine a weekend without them Blockbuster was the go-to for movie rentals, but while they were boasting about their massive retail presence, Netflix was quietly building a digital empire. Blockbuster dismissed the online streaming trend, bragging about their in-store experience and physical catalog. But customers wanted convenience, and Netflix was giving it to them.   📉 Result? Blockbuster went bankrupt in 2010, while Netflix now boasts over 238 million subscribers globally. Prime Video & Amazon Studios you shouldn’t add commercials all of a sudden nor add a charge of $3 for no commercials. You should have added the $3 to my prime subscription fee and not told me why. Wait, you did increase the membership fee last year. Don’t you have any business psychologists, organizational behaviorists, or assome marketing people over there? At a time when everyone in streaming is increasing prices and/or charging for no commercials, maybe not the best way or time to change the membership? You would think somebody at one of the biggest companies in the world would have thought of this? How to get what you want without being obvious? Amazon it’s not about the $3. Stop being lazy and innovate how you’re getting the extra $3 or whatever you think you need to improve your stock. Think people.
