What changed? Me Now I watch every action movie, animated series, and anime with a game designer's eye! I Watched Animal Movie and seriously we are missing out, India should see the bigger picture we have to and need to collaborate with movie directors and create Magic in the AAA or AA game world. I understand we have a great history and most game studios are behind, creating games based on history or Indian epics like Ramayan, however, we have scope to recreate some amazing action movies into games. I will try to recreate the prologue prototype for an animal movie game! Chao! #gamedesign #gamedevelopment #india #makeinindia #madeinindia #gamedev #gamelevel #indiangame

Day 5/100 on my journey of making my first video game, in the #godot engine. Today I added a small interaction with the player and the enemy in the platformer I am designing. Both the player and the enemy play an animation indicating they've been hit now when the other attacks. It does need some tweaking, as the hitbox, particularly for the enemy, reach out a bit too far. Tomorrow's goal is to expand on this interaction between the player and enemy further, adding in some health and damage, and if i have time to add in loading, to a new battle scene/level.

Fun Unreal 5 doodle I made over the weekend. Experimenting making non action pack scenes interesting and building a visual story. Also it should be known that each of these scenes I'm working on are created in a way that can be use as an 'In-Game Cinematic" These are all able to run at real-time/stream in and out during gameplay. I will make a video on my IGC workflow soon! Enjoy :) Full Res Version: https://lnkd.in/gfFBggUZ #shortfilm #uap #unrealengine5 #unreal #cinematic

Fire Tower (League of Legends Fan Art) - Real-time VFX (Unreal Engine 5.2). Hey Everyone! Here I am to share with you my last personal work. I called it Fire Tower. This one is a tribute to a League of Legends character called Brand. I decided to do it as a personal interpretation of its "W" ability, the Pillar of Flame. It has been a while since I was wanting to do some fire effects, so I think the time has come and nothing better to do this kind of effect having some League of Legends inspiration. For those who know Brand and the League of Legends franchise, the effect itself is auto explicative. For those who don't, I'm going to give a brief explanation. Brand is a creature who is constantly on fire, so its abilities couldn't not be different from setting ablaze on everything in its path, right? This ability marks a circular area and after that, it explodes, doing some heavy damage to its foes who stand there. For the ones who want to know more about this project, to see how this effect could fit in a league of legends ground, see a little more how its was made, a little glimpse of the shaders or a tiny breakdown, I invite you to see it in my artstation page: https://lnkd.in/dW5qX2p2 And please, if you have some kind of feedback leave it in the comments or simply reach me on private messages. Feedback is always appreciated. Hope you guys enjoy it! See you soon! #vfx #vfxArtist #vfxIndustry #GameArt #Stylized #vfxWorld #FireMagic #GameIndustry #FireSpell #spel #skill #LoL #LeagueOfLegends

Day 11/100 on my journey of making my first video game, in the #godot engine. Today I added extra enemies to the battle scene, without breaking it, as well as reworked how the enemies get hit to be more like Mega Man Battle Network, as most of the enemies don't flinch from the normal attack. Tomorrow I plan to further fix up the battle scene, i want to program a charge-up meter for the enemy swings, so it doesn't happen as soon as they detect the player on their field. I also need to try and figure out how to fix a small bug where objects aren't ordering right, as you can see in the video, despite player being in the front of some of the enemies attacks, the attack animation goes above the player.

🔜 #TIFFCOM24 Consultant | ex-MD Manga Entertainment | Executive Producer, CANNON BUSTERS, a Netflix Original | Global Sales - IN THIS CORNER OF THE WORLD (2017 Annecy Prize Winner) | Distribution & Marketing
There’s a lot of chatter on here around #Hollywood’s pivot from #superheroes to #videogame adaptations. It is definitely an observable #trend, but let’s all pray to the Gods that it doesn’t become one of the only things the big boys and girls of the corporate industrial entertainment complex do. Because they will fuck it up, especially now that the primary decision-making factor at play for many is fear of redundancy. #Anime and #adultanimation is another one of those areas where #videogames have occasionally found a safe space for adaptation and engagement with existing and new audiences. *I’m no longer in the C-suite, but trust me. I know a thing or two about successful videogame adaptations and spin-offs in animation. I’ve licensed, marketed and sold a shed load of them. A successful game to animation work must: - Stand on its own two feet as a piece of storytelling; - Honour the source material and understand why it makes compulsory viewing for not only the existing audience, but also your target audience be they anime fans, fantasy, sci-fi fans and/or genre fans (#ARCANE is an excellent example of a scripted genre drama series based off a game that over-indexes with female viewers who have never played #LeagueOfLegends or watched lots of adult-animation before); and - Be more than a “pre-existing, in-built audience security blanket” for risk-averse programmers. Here’s some excellent examples of game-to-animation successes: - Street Fighter 2 The Animated Movie* (1994) - Devil May Cry: The Animated Series* (2007) - Pokémon (2000)* - Final Fantasy: Advent Children (2005) - Dead Space: Downfall* (2008) - Halo:Legends* (2010) - Halo: Red Vs. Blue* (2003-2024) - Fate/Stay Night* (2006) - Persona 5* (2015) - Arcane (2021) - Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (2022) - Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix (2023) #Japan has done an excellent job recently of turning successful #mobile games into successful #anime series. That’s why I’m excited about the latest announcement (👇) regarding KADOKAWA Corporation and Garena #FreeFire anime collab. It makes sense, it’s the most animesque of all the arena based, battle royale shooters. A lot of thought has gone into the design of the playable characters. #BattleRoyale works in anime, and one can argue that for any anime to work, it’s all about the characters first. The crossover here is the way both gamers and anime/manga fans engage with character. They’re not just avatars. We adopt characters who are close to our own hearts. Some characters are aspirational and represent the person we’d like to be. Others are idealised versions of archetypes we most associate with (Introvert, extrovert, stoic, healer etc). Here’s some popular game IP to keep an eye on for future animation adaptations: - Valorant - Genshin Impact - Honkai Star Rail - Helldivers 2 - Warhammer 40K - Tower of Fantasy https://lnkd.in/eKupqrSe #IP #optioning #adaptation #games #series

Here is a solution for sword trails and slash effects. Indie Game Developer Benji created this for his retro-style game, Azaran: Islands of the Jinn. He used UV Panner to achieve the effects, managing timing manually and not tying to animation speed. Watch how it is implemented in the game: https://lnkd.in/dypM3EnP #indiegames #gamedev #indiegamedev #blender #unity #vfx
