Another day, another announcement. The Karnataka Govt. has announced a new ambitious project called the KWIN city. Spread across 2,000 acres between Dobbaspete and Doddaballapur, KWIN City will focus on innovation, biosciences, and semiconductors, with an estimated investment of ₹40,000 crore and the potential to create 1,00,000 jobs. Modeled after global hubs like Singapore’s Biopolis, it will integrate education, healthcare, and research into a self-sustaining ecosystem. Love the intent. However this comes in the long list of so many such initiatives announced by various Governments which only impact real estate pricing, and sadly, with very less action on the ground. A quick online search shows how many of these large scale projects which were announced with a lot of fanfare, have been delayed, or worse, #denied. #Koramangalaflyover ( also called Stonehenge) is the most famous one.
