Feedback is like a coat. Sometimes it’s in the middle of a polar freeze and the “coat” is exactly what you need. And sometimes it’s the middle of summer heat, and that “coat” is dangerous to put on. We’re often taught to take every piece of feedback we receive. To put on every coat until we’re so weighed down, we can barely move. I’m giving you permission to evaluate and try on each piece of feedback before you decide to wear it. Write what the family needs on cards and hang the cards on a Christmas tree at your office, the local gym or library, or partner with a local business.
