🏀 Officiating Tip: Prioritizing Contact Over Violations 🚨 When contact directly causes a violation, address the contact first to maintain fairness and game flow. Here's how: 🔹 Bump Leads to Travel: Call the bump or push, not the travel. The contact disrupted the player’s ability to stay in control. 🔹 Pushed Out of Bounds: Don't penalize the player for stepping out. Instead, call the push or bump that forced them there. 🔹 Bumped into Backcourt: Avoid calling a backcourt violation if contact caused the misstep. Rule it as a foul.
