Director @ Drata • Executive Partner Driving Impact & Transformation in High-Growth Environments • Strategic Leader Translating Vision to Execution • Force Multiplier • Problem-Solver • Cross-Functional Collaboration
Reflecting on the sessions and events from yesterday's Annual Kickoff (AKO) event, a prominent theme emerged that resonates deeply with our ethos at Drata: the vital role of COMPETITIVE FIRE🔥 This concept of Competitive Fire is not merely a company value; it represents a fundamental mindset that extends beyond the realm of external competition. It underscores the importance of self-improvement and the internal drive to excel beyond our previous accomplishments. This leads us to an essential question: How can we elevate ourselves to a higher standard than yesterday? You have to do the hard things. The things that no one else is doing. The things that scare you. The things that make you wonder how much longer you can hold on. Those are the things that define you. Those are the things that make the difference. The hard things are the easiest things to avoid. To excuse away. To pretend like they don’t apply to you. Do the hard things. You might be surprised at how amazing you really are. 🚀

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Communications Strategist I Workshop Facilitator I Speaker I Co-author I Coach
With recent and historical global events going on and conversations that it's creating and conflict that it's creating within the walls of our organization, we need to figure out as communicators how to be community-based in our inclusive communications and transcending choosing sides. How do we honor and protect the human dignity that is represented within our workforce or other external constituents? This is something you can gut-check your communications before you put something out and say, "where are there power dynamics that don't need to be there? Where is there bias or a reinforcement of current status quo that doesn't need to be there? How accurate am I in the terms? Is this really what's going on or am I just going off with what somebody else is saying it is? And am I informed by the impacted communities? By people who are representative of the impacted communities?" They have to have a voice in how an organization responds, even if it's just internal, to a social situation, a social issue that's going on. Driving Organisational Success with MARSTA Goals™ | Certified Goal Master | Transforming Teams to Achieve the right Goals | Keynote Speaker & Community Leader
Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda..... So many highs and lows in business and of course, hindsight is such a brilliant decision maker..... And sometimes we just do, or don't do the thing that we really should..... Most of the things we look back on and then commit to doing differently from hereonin, are relatively small and also, with hindsight, were learning experiences and they make up who we are today.... And I'm not someone who sits around regretting things..... But I think the one thing I wish I'd done better over a number of years, was following up.... I'm a gobby, extrovert with infectious energy - I meet loads of lovely people - but I didn't always have confidence in what I was offering to make them curious enough to chat more and to enable me to boldly connect and take the next step.... My messaging, my offer and other things weren't in place, so regardless of how much I wanted to add to my revenue (a SMART goal) - I was never going to get there, cos I was chasing the wrong thing.... So - the positive outcome of this is that in creating my MARSTA Goals™ framework, I realised one of the crucial steps is that we need to discover the right goals that will deliver that turnover increase! Without the right messaging, product, transformation offering etc, I had no motivation to follow up.... so, not only has this "failure" to follow up, been instrumental in developing my framework, it's now a top priority and part of every week - and it's done with confidence and a real sense of purpose! If you want to discover the real drivers and goals that will deliver your desired outcomes, ie Goal MARSTAry, please come along to our next J.E.D.I session (Just Effectively Do It) - every Tuesday 9am UK time - always free and always a place to be inspired! #thebusinessofstories https://lnkd.in/exsjBvJc
