Caring is at the heart of everything we do at Katharine House, and that includes caring for the environment. 🌍 Our team of Sustainability Champions at the hospice have been introducing and trialling new ways we can all reduce our environmental impact. As well as taking part in No Mow May and swapping to some tasty Zero Waste Snacks in July to help cut plastic usage, we've just held our first Swap Shop at the hospice. 👚👖 Sustainability Champion Charlotte explained: "We know that the fashion industry accounts for 10% of global pollution so buying second hand is really important to us. The Swap Shop was a great opportunity to donate some pre-loved items and get something in return to spruce up our wardrobes! "We had over 130 items donated from staff, around 30 items swapped, and 22 items sold! Just from items donated by staff, we estimated that this has saved the equivalent of nearly 2 tonnes in CO2!" We'll be sharing more updates on the different ways we're being more sustainable and doing what we can to care for our planet as well as our patients. ❤️

🌍♻️ At Little Things for Tiny Tots, every week is recycling week! ♻️🌍 While National Recycling Week may be here, we're proud to say we’re doing our part for the planet all year round. From upcycling to reusing, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do! 🌱✨ Did you know? We pack most of our orders in second-hand nappy boxes, giving them a new life instead of them heading to the landfill. It’s just one of the many small ways we’re working to reduce waste and promote a more sustainable future for our little ones. 💚 At Little Things for Tiny Tots, it’s not just about providing essential items to WA babies in need - it’s about creating a healthier, more eco-conscious world for them to grow up in. Let’s all do our part, every day, to make a difference. If you have any nappy size boxes you would like to recycle, please think about dropping them off at one of our donation drop off points near you. 🌱💚 Even better, if you are a business that throws away your small cardboard boxes, please get in touch - we would love to have them! #NationalRecyclingWeek #SustainableLiving #EcoFriendly #LittleThingsForTinyTots

#MonteCarloCares Did you know that... In 2023, the collect of discarded soap in the resort’s hotels reached 500 kilos! That amount of discarded soap will be used to make new soaps, given to families in need for free. Thanks to this new environmental and social initiative, this amount of soap was transformed into 4750 recycled soaps, which were distributed free of charge to 1180 families in need! This process saved 248 kilos of CO2 and contributes to sustaining 5 jobs for disabled people. Faithful to Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer's commitment to a more sustainable luxury industry, this action is part of the Bubbles Saving Lives program created by SapoCycle, a non-profit association which works for recycling on a European scale.

A staggering issue of overconsumption in the fashion industry 👗🌎. The sheer volume of clothing produced annually, coupled with the minuscule percentage that gets recycled ♻️, underscores the unsustainable nature of our current consumption habits 🚫👚. The call to action is clear and compelling: we should prioritize mindful shopping 🛍️, upcycling 🔄, and reusing what we already own 👖. By making these small changes, we can collectively reduce our environmental footprint 🌱 and move towards a more sustainable future 🌿. Remember, the most eco-friendly clothes are the ones already in your closet 👚👖. #SustainableFashion #Overconsumption #EcoFriendly #RecycleClothes #Upcycle #MindfulShopping #ReduceReuseRecycle #FashionRevolution #EcoConscious #SustainableLiving #GreenFashion #SlowFashion

How crazy is that !!! 100 billion pieces of clothing are made every year. Only 1% get recycled into new clothes. We have enough clothes to last six generations. Now, that’s overconsumption.. Atleast we can try to shop less… The most sustainable t-shirt is the one you already own. Upcycle old clothes into something new, host a clothing swap party, or consider beneficial reuse. Before you hit the mall for new clothes, pause and reconsider. Repost if you agree ♻ See how donating old clothes can change lives... https://lnkd.in/eB9zrcij #environmental #waste #sustainability #circularity #degrowth

Having a corporate Independence Day celebration? Be sure you walk the talk! It’s a great opportunity to bring in sustainability values and even start new habits on site. Here are a couple tips: -Avoid single-use plastic where possible -Set up clearly demarcated recycling bins -Have a plan for excess food after the party is over, such as donating to a food pantry, or having employees bring in their own Tupperware to take home leftovers. Bonus points? Share how you made your corporate celebrations more sustainable on social media.

🌍💚 Our Eco-Benefits Mean Something to Our Customers! We love hearing from customers like John, who appreciate our commitment to sustainability. Here's what he had to say on Trustpilot: Quality, strong and reliable products - This isn’t the first time our school has used this company and yet again, did not disappoint. We have a lot of their products around our site, all made from recycled plastic, which knowing this is keeping it out of landfills, brings a sense of achievement to our students and staff, knowing we helping our climate, also benefiting from strong, quality products too. This latest purchase was to support our local library, where we have raised funds to buy a variety of outdoor benches for the site. The library is a big part of our local community and was under threat of being closed, but with donations from the community and businesses, together we have been able to refurbish the library, and the benches our school have bought from NBB Recycled Furniture, help add to our community contribution. The team are quick to get quotes to you, very knowledgeable and has a fast turnaround. Thank you, John, for recognising the difference that sustainable choices can make and we are thrilled to hear that our benches have helped this great cause! 💪♻️ 🌱 Learn more about what we do to protect the planet through recycling and our partnership with Ecologi. https://lnkd.in/eQ2hX_up Together, we can create a greener future - because every small action makes a big difference. 🌟 #NBBRecycledFurniture #EcoFriendlyLiving #CustomerPraise #RecycledFurniture #SustainabilityMatters #Ecologi #GoGreen #InThisTogether #Trustpilot #CustomerReview
