Say hello to our new Patient Ambassador, David! 👋 After receiving care from Katharine House earlier this year, David was so impressed with the hospice, he asked if he could volunteer, now that he felt fit enough. So, it was with David in mind that we created a brand-new Patient Ambassador role where patient volunteers go out into the community to share their experiences of the hospice to help spread the word. Speaking about his time in our Inpatient Unit, David said: "Over two weeks, they took me from extreme pain and feeling close to death to feeling like I could leave in a pair of spiked running shoes! I felt that I was loved because I was in their care … total love. It means a lot to me that I can help others with my voice and share my story!" ❤️ You can read David's story here: https://lnkd.in/euiDYxt9

End of life decisions can be incredibly difficult for patients, though we can help patients make these decisions and share their wishes with family and their care team. This webinar should be helpful for health care staff who wish to learn how to guide patients though the end of life decision-making process.

As we celebrate National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, let's shine a light on the incredible impact of these services and healthcare professionals. Why does this month matter? Because quality care can happen right where you feel most comfortable. It’s essential to: → Recognize the dedication of these professionals → Understand the importance of hospice and palliative care → Advocate for patient-centered approaches If we don’t acknowledge the value of end of life care, who will? So, let’s honor those who make a difference every day! P.S. How has hospice and palliative care impacted your life or someone you know?
