When we talk about building connection in training we talk about 3 things. Being present, being curious, and enjoying the journey. So today I created some tips to start becoming more curious when we have hard conversations. It is important to be curious with others, but it is also imperative that we are curious within ourselves!

I find the best way to learn about a new skill as: 1. Get the best course that teaches about the skill. 2. If possible, get a mentor that has already been successful with this skill. 3. Implement the skill every day together with help from the mentor.

💭 Inspiring... A really busy week comes to an end. I had my trainer newbies in our headquarter, doing their onboarding and the never expected came: Step back, reflect: what is actually training? How training actually gets effective and senseful? 💥 It is always so precious to me to see people in the corporate world mindblowing in front of me, who experience how we most of time are stucked in useless presentations, hours and hours of blabla and then wondering that the message did not arrive. Then I always hear: ripetition is key! But is it actually effective to repeat blabla without connecting, without reason for the listener, without letting the participant actually understand and relate it to them? 🤔 To assure learning reflect on how you teach! How you bring your message over? Let the participants come back to be small kids: involve them, let them explore, discover and find their own words. As kids they will understand, relate, connect, learn and repeat. 💬 "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." Benjamin Franklin

Don't write it down! Whenever people are attending workshops, taking mentor advice or taking feedback from customers. They wrote them down on their notepad or spreadsheets. DON'T DO THAT Just Listen carefully. Enhance your learning experiences by embracing active listening over note-taking. Then you will able to understand from what perspective the other person is SAYING. Share a moment when you were diligently taking notes but couldn't practically execute or understand what you noted down.
