As Hispanic Heritage Month continues, associate Yesica Liposky reflects on a memorable surprise at her law school graduation and shares her thoughts on the importance of family, culture and community.   A litigator and appellate lawyer in our Tampa office, Yesica stays busy working on general commercial litigation and consumer finance matters, representing clients such as auto dealers, financial institutions and debt collection agencies. With extensive experience in both state and federal courts, as well as private arbitration, she has successfully handled appeals at all levels of Florida’s appellate courts. 

A special moment at the 2024 West Virginia Business Summit, where the West Virginia Chamber honored Dinsmore labor and employment partner Anna Dailey for her dedication and tireless contributions to the Chamber’s mission. In a gesture of gratitude, Anna was presented with a Resolution of Appreciation, recognizing her outstanding service and commitment to advancing the interests of businesses across the state. In 2022, Anna made history as part of the organization’s first-ever all-female cohort elected to the Board of Directors.  

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) periodically release reports outlining key risks facing the banking industry. These reports telegraph the risks regulators will be particularly interested in during the next examination cycle. As we continue to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, Columbus litigator Kelli Jo Amador reflects on the importance of recognizing the power of community and the role it plays in her success. In the statement below, Kelli shares her experience as a first-generation Latina in the legal field, reflecting on the strength and support she finds in the growing network of Latinx professionals.   “Most Latinx professionals know we may have to be the “first” someone meets: first Latinx attorney, board member or professional,” Kelli said. “But as our numbers grow, so does the strength in our community. Hispanic Heritage Month reminds me of the value of our community and how we can continue to support one another as we grow together.”    At Dinsmore, Kelli is a co-leader of the Firm’s Minority Attorney Affinity Group (MAAG). She also serves as President-elect of the Columbus Bar Association, having previously served on the Board of Governors before being elected to Secretary-Treasurer, was co-chair of the Minorities in the Law Committee, a member of the Admissions Committee and is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association’s Advisory Council on Diversity Initiatives. 

I walked off the field with Team 15 last Friday night, marking my final time as a coach. Over the past 15 years, there were both challenging and exhausting days at work. However, being around the kids after work during practice served as the therapy I needed. #Coaching #Team15 #Grateful

Faith Whittaker, chair of Dinsmore's employment practice group, recently spoke at the Ohio State Bar Association’s Midwest Labor and Employment Law Institute.   She joined a panel of other attorneys discussing tax considerations in settlement and severance agreements. The presentation titled “I’m not a tax lawyer and I don’t play one on TV!” explored various payment scenarios through the lens of a tax attorney, providing insights on how different approaches can impact taxation and the options employment attorneys can offer their clients.
