You have to stand out if you want to “get the girl”. Make yourself seem attractive. Convince them that you have something that they need. Easier said than done. Same applies to logistics, or any sales for that matter. Find the problem or bottleneck. Offer a solution that looks attractive. Show them what’s in it for them. Lay out the path for how you’re going to help them achieve what they want. Keep it real.

Logistics sales can be tough, especially when a deal slips away because a company chose a cheaper option. But here's the deal: cheap doesn't always mean good. It can actually cause problems later on. Here's why: 🔍 Quality Counts: Cheaper solutions might not work as well, leading to headaches and extra costs down the line. 💼 Think Long-Term: Spending a bit more upfront on quality can save you money in the long run by avoiding issues and boosting productivity. 🛠️ Get the Support You Need: Cheaper options often skimp on support, leaving you stranded if something goes wrong. Remember, in Logistics, it's not just about the price – it's about what you get for your money. #logistics #qualityoverquantity #longtermthinking

What is a deciding factor in a company choosing a third party provider in the logistics space? Brand? Service options? Company profile? Sales Rep? Entertainments? Relationships? How do third party logistics companies separate themselves when they offer the same services? In my opinion, I believe it all comes down to relationships. Building a bond between yourself and the prospect/client. Knowing their business and having their companies best interest at hand while also having the mutual respect that it's a business partnership. Building the relationship first, before the sale is critical to building true partnerships. I'd love to hear other thoughts on this subject. Operations Maven | Consultative Selling | Intermodal, LTL & TL | Solutions Driven | ESG- SmartWay partner & Silver EcoVadis | WBENC
My official title is National Sales Account Executive. However, when considering my look at my skills, experience and mentality, I tend to take on a Logisitics consulting role, with my clients. Not every customer I meet with, is a good fit. I don't just walk away though. I have referred many potential customers to other people with niches that are more geared to support their particular needs. Although it's not a monetary win, it's still a win, no less. This is one of the many reasons why I network with not just potential customers, but with others in the broad, logistics industry. I look for those like-minded individuals that also excel in their operations. With my extensive operations background, the companies I have networked and built relationships with, are just one call away! Guess what, the road goes both ways! I was just introduced to a new customer by another great carrier, to help with a piece of business that is not in their wheelhouse. So, what's in my wheelhouse? Rates, operations and dispatch for: - LTL - regional, national, blanket and negotiated, customer specific rates. - Truckload - drop trailer pool management, grocery store deliveries, transactional and committed. - Intermodal - OTR to intermodal conversion, drop container management, large volumes, multi-lanes, transactional and committed. I have knowledge and resources to offer guidance with parcel, international, high-touch / high-value regional deliveries, etc. #SolutionsOriented #CustomersFirst #CustomerObsessed #Consultants #Logistics #LTL #Truckload #Intermodal #parcel #international #TailoredServices

I see so much criticism of logistics sales persons pitching their service, rates, people to potential new clients. "Say something different!", they scream. Here's the thing, this is a service business. Service, even rates, are table stakes. Everyone expects that of you but it's also inherent value so don't undersell it. The best business practice for sales people in our field is to get in front of as many people as you can and if "my service" or, "my rates are the best" is all you got then go all in. In the end, it's a door for you to walk through to present to the prospect your actual value, you. You're the difference maker and it's you that you are actually selling. In a commoditized business YOU are all you have to offer. #freight #logistics #trucking

Sales Manager vs. LinkedIn Superhero: What's the Real Story? 😎 Folks, we all know the LinkedIn version of our jobs sounds WAY more polished than the reality... "Sales Manager?" More like "Revenue Growth Gladiator" or "Cold Call Commander" - because closing deals and hitting targets is only half the battle! In reality, you're juggling calls, managing a CRM that likes to glitch right when you’re about to seal the deal, and sometimes even being a therapist for your customers 😂 So, what's your real LinkedIn title if you’re being 100% honest? Drop your most creative (and realistic) ones in the comments below! 😄 Want to see more of these for Freight Brokers, Customer Service, and beyond?
