But, just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD do it. Here's three areas where utilizing a third party service can make a ton of sense... 1) Online Pro Shop - the hours maintaining inventory, uploading pictures, and processing payments/shipping orders can be crushing for the typical golf course or club. Beyond gift certificates and holiday programs, there's several great online merchandise platforms (Full Turn Custom and others) that can do this as a convenient, hands-off 24/365 service and allow your team to focus on the member and guest experience! 2) Catering / Banquet Room - while most clubs will be smart to maximize their catering kitchen and banquet spaces, some clubs are wise to look for a third party to utilize that space without the cost and investment that might be required. If golf, merchandise and pub dining are in your wheelhouse but catering/weddings/events are not, an offsite caterer might love to use that kitchen and banquet room while you enjoy a steady rental payment and a portion of the revenues while still getting the foot traffic and exposure. 3) Landscaping & Flowers - while many superintendents are the very best solutions for these services, some are not. While the scope of this work can vary from simple to the very extensive, not every grounds crew is also skilled in some aspects of horticulture. Does it make sense to allow that super to focus fully on course conditions and general clubhouse surrounds while leaving the flowers, plantscaping and "garden" spaces to a third party that's more suited for the task?
