Hello friends! A very great lady and amazing human being, Sarah Olin, is leading a workshop through her company LUMO, co-sponsored by Bobbie, entitled "Setting Healthy Boundaries for Voting Parents" on October 22nd at 1:00pm EST where "we're transforming political stress into parental empowerment. This workshop offers practical skills for managing hard conversations this election season, including scripts and tools for creating and maintaining boundaries - something that so many parents need support with. This workshop is raising funds for the Chamber of Mothers’ Vote like a Mother initiative. In fact, 100% of the proceeds from this workshop go directly to the cause." I recommend this for anyone who wants to positively impact working parents, or empower themselves as working parents, during this political season: Individuals and companies can check this out: https://lnkd.in/gdiW9ZHF

Pronatalism influences us all in ways that can be so deeply internalized, we do not even recognize the ways it drives us in everyday ways, from our words and choices, to significant personal decisions, which exponentially impact others. Pronatalism has permeated cultures, education, economic models and perpetual growth idealization that disregards access to basic universal human needs, the extinction of sentient species and other permanent loss through extractive environmental practices. Further, children are often defined as political pawns, future consumers and solutionists before they exist. These expectations are most often void of acknowledgment or analysis of the real-world impact of pronatalist entitlement on the current and predicted outcomes regarding the well-being, rights and autonomy of children. It is imperative we learn to recognize and discern pro-population agendas cloaked in eugenics and white nationalism, and disregard for reproductive autonomy, and the basic needs, rights and safeguarding of all children. (C. Erickson, NLI) *From the Guardian by Jenny Kleeman 25 May 2024: America’s premier pronatalists on having ‘tons of kids’ to save the world: ‘There are going to be countries of old people starving to death’ "Elon Musk (father of 11) supports their cause. Thousands follow their ideology. Malcolm and Simone Collins are on a mission to make it easier for everyone to have multiple children. But are they really model parents?" "The “number one pronatalist policy position,” he tells me, is for governments to make it easier for women to work from home and have flexible hours. The Collinses believe in childcare, but not maternity leave: Simone has never taken any. " https://lnkd.in/gXN-A8CC

Every child deserves to grow up with both parents. Having both parents in a home makes a good model for children to follow. Children raised from single mother families struggle a lot when it reaches time to have their own families more especially those who never had father figures in their lives. Some ladies don't understand and value the importance of a father in a home, as they grew up with none but the mother played both roles and life moved on. For the men, some expect their wives to be like their mothers. They grew up seeing their mothers do everything in the absence of their fathers, so, they expect their wives to play both roles even when they are physically present. As a result, some ladies choose to stay single and have children and some men continue looking for women who are like their mothers. More children are produced without both parents and when these children are not helped, more single mothers and children without fathers are produced. Children from single parent families need to be guided and helped to heal and be empowered to break this from continuing. Both boys and girls need guidance equally. “REVERSE” Insurance Claim Specialist I Author For GOOD I Speaker For GOOD I Trainer For GOOD & BEYOND I WSQ Certified I "Effective & Seamless Insurance Claims Advisory" IBF-Accredited Course Trainer
Day 6/7 (Towards Mother’s Day On 12 May 2024)- The Power Of Letting Go! “有一种爱叫做放手”🤲🤲🤲 This is the title of a Mandarin love song, "There is a kind of Love called Letting GO!" One of the toughest things to do as Parents is learning to Let GO! Whether they are 2 mths, 2 yrs or 22 yrs, in the eyes of parents, our children are forever our "babies" For me, I stopped calling our children "babies" after they were able to articulate- around 2 to 3 yrs of age. I call them young women and young man. I envisioned early in my parenting journey to trust our children to become fine man & women in life! My 51st BD in April 2023 was perhaps the most important milestone for me as a parent! I scheduled for a spiritual retreat from 28 - 30 April in the midst of double birthdays. 1st is Charity's 21st on 29 April & my 51st on 30 April. Instead of trying to organise a 21st BD party for Charity, she had her own separate group of friends celebrating for her over a few weekends! When I woke up on Day 2 of the retreat on Charity's 21st BD on 29 April, I was overflowing with gratitude that I could finally be released from "parental" responsibility. Turning 21 is significant for most of us in Singapore. 1) Our voting rights! (All 3 children cast their vote during PE2023) 2) Full adults being fully responsible for our lives. 3) Making defining decision without parents. Most importantly for my hubby & I, we have completed our parenting journey to bring up our 3 children the best we could. I no longer need to wake up in the wee hours of the night, wondering if the party girl has returned home. All I I do is to send an arrow prayer to God & continue my beauty sleep. From time to time, I will remind them that Power comes with Responsibility. Most times, I am referring to the lastborn! The 3 LGs strategy that I apply in my life also works miracles in my parenting journey. 1) Let GO - Let GO of things that I could not control. That means letting Go of our kids when they turn 21 so that they can Grow in their adulthood. 2) Let GOD - letting Go is never about resigning to fate. Letting Go, to me, is to let GOD take control. I will focus on my circle of control (My health- spiritual, intellectual, physical) and God handle the circle of NO-control (CONC). The CONC is much bigger than the circle of control, especially in the area of parenting. We could not control the types of friends they have, where they go and what's in their minds. Focus on our circle of control is essential for the mental Well-being of parents today. 3) Let's GO... With the intense weight of parenting lifted up, the new found freedom is simply unimaginable. I can now truly Let's GO To pursue my next dream, next course, next travel destination with hubby. After the 3LG strategy succesfully implemented, Life's Good; Life's Great; Life's Gorgeous! Don't you agree with me? #mothersday2024forgood #mumslabouroflove #parentingforgood #世上只有妈妈好

🚀 **Exciting News!** 🚀 I am proud to announce the launch of Rolling With Dads, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering and celebrating fathers everywhere! When I began my fatherhood journey, I found myself in unfamiliar territory without the necessary resources, support, and community that would help me become a better father to my son. These challenges inspired the creation of Rolling With Dads. I established this nonprofit to have a significant impact on fathers so they never feel alone or unprepared to take on parenthood. Instead, they should feel empowered and capable of building strong child bonds, be exceptional caregivers, and have a community of dads to lean on when they need support the most. Created by dads, for dads, to enrich and strengthen the families in our communities. Our work aims to: -Support: Build a strong, understanding community for dads. -Educate: Provide expert-led workshops/clinics, and expert advice on parenting, health, and wellness. -Inspire: Share powerful stories from dads around the world. Visit our website, www.rollingwithdads.org to learn more about our mission and the programs we offer to support dads through their parenting journey. Join us in honoring the vital role of fathers. Your support can make a world of difference! If you'd like to partner or collaborate around any of our initiatives or events please reach out, we're actively looking for sponsors/partners that have shared brand values. #RollingWithDads #EmpowerDads #Fatherhood #Nonprofit #Community
