These findings make complete sense to me.
Yes, the profession needs to look at barriers to entry.
Yes, the profession needs to do a better job of highlighting the immense benefits of what we do and the opportunities which exist for CPAs.
Yes, the profession needs to increase starting salaries.
But.
If we don’t give people at ALL levels of the profession more TIME we’re going to continue to lose great professionals at various points in their career. CPAs and Future CPAs need TIME to study. TIME to take the exam. TIME to disconnect and recharge. TIME to spend time with family and friends. TIME to be a parent and spouse. TIME to volunteer and give back. TIME to prepare the next generation of CPAs to take over. TIME to enjoy the fruits of their labor.
Only we can make this happen. With action, not just talk. Looking forward to giving the people in my orbit more TIME.
