I craft fan-centric experiences that drive community & loyalty | Event Ops & Game Presentation Specialist

#LinkedInSports Challenge Day 2 Ask anyone in my Sports Venue and Event Management grad class what advice they would give those in the sports industry and we would all say the same thing: 1️⃣ Have a sense of purpose 2️⃣ Have a sense of urgency. It was something that Tom Benzel, an adviser for our class, emphasized and practiced with us. The way you walk into a room matters. The way you shake hands and introduce yourself matters. The way you present yourself around peers and superiors matters. Tom forced us to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. In the live events world, things can change in an instant. You have to be able to react in an instant or think one step ahead. “Run and take care of this/grab this” is not meant to be taken figuratively. And finally, taking a page out of the Savannah Bananas’ book, look for inspiration outside the industry. Adapt best practices from other experiences - restaurants, hotels, airlines, theme parks, streaming services - and make it your own.
