The Global Pet Expo is going on and although we are not exhibiting or attending this year, I still like to look at the daily show magazine (available online) to see what exciting things are in the field! Today, there is a great article about "Delegation: Why We Should but Why We Don't." It is not a pet specific article so I wanted to share because everyone seems to have busy, hectic lives so if we can apply this concept to our lives (both at work and home) it might relieve a little stress! The article says, "Delegation is a learned and applied skill." I would agree, but I also feel my son, at age 11, seems to have mastered it - HA! My husband tells him, "You don't understand, we don't work for you!" I hope you can take away something from this article to minimize stress in your job or household. #delegate

We’re running a series of monthly online interactive sessions to support our receptionists in small animal, equine and farm first opinion practices, referrals hospitals and crematoria. They’ll offer an opportunity for all of our receptionists to connect with their peer network, to share experiences and ideas, and to feel supported within our company. Two types of session are being run. The first is aimed at new starters, covers the training and support available during induction, and is an opportunity to check in and discuss progress so far. The second is open to all receptionists and focuses on a different theme each month. Topics scheduled to date include: triaging client cases; handling challenging conversations; going above and beyond; looking after wellbeing; and, learning and career development opportunities. They’re voluntary online drop in sessions. And each interactive session lasts around 45 minutes. Colleagues simply need to visit its unique Knowledge Hub to log in. Visit Home: Client Care Hub (https://zurl.co/upOc) to diarise the next session. We look forward to seeing you there 🙂! #cvsgroup #receptionist #supportingeachother #wellbeing

In the world of unwavering loyalty and unconditional love, dogs set a benchmark that every professional can learn from. 🐾❤️ Anyone who has had the pleasure of a canine companion knows this: a dog's loyalty is unmatched. They don't care about your job title, your bank account, or your list of accomplishments. They care about you, purely and simply. This kind of loyalty, devoid of any ulterior motives, is a powerful reminder of what truly matters in relationships, be it personal or professional. Here are a few lessons we can learn from our four-legged friends: Unconditional Support: Dogs are there for you, in good times and bad, much like the ideal team member or business partner. They remind us that steadfast support is invaluable. 🤝 Non-judgmental: Dogs don't judge; they accept. Imagine a workplace where everyone is accepted for who they are. The potential for innovation and collaboration would skyrocket. 🚀 Communication Beyond Words: Dogs communicate effectively without saying a single word. They remind us of the power of non-verbal communication and the importance of paying attention to the unsaid. 👀💬 Joy in Simplicity: Dogs find joy in the simplest of things. As professionals, they teach us to find fulfillment in our work, not from external rewards but from the work itself. 🎾➡️💼 Protectiveness: A dog's instinct to protect its pack is profound. In a professional setting, this translates to looking out for your team and creating a safe, supportive environment for all. 🛡️ Let's take a leaf out of our canine companions' book and strive to incorporate these qualities into our professional lives. If we can even come close to matching a dog's loyalty, we can create workplaces that are not only successful but also nurturing and inclusive.
