As National Apprenticeship Week wraps up, it's been fantastic seeing so many businesses showing their gratitude for, and celebrating their apprentices!
But, let's take a moment to reflect on some important findings from recent research by Randstad. They discovered that 44% of Gen Z individuals feel like their bosses don't fully understand them. That's a significant number!
At the same time, more than a quarter of young professionals feel hesitant to share their thoughts at work, and a staggering 75% feel the need to hide aspects of themselves due to fear of judgement or discrimination. These are concerning figures that point to a potential communication gap.
Are some of these numbers represented in your workplace? How can you find out? Have you asked them?
And for those of you just starting out, what would make it easier for you to express your thoughts and be yourself at work?
Please follow for more discussions on this topic. In the next few weeks I'll also be sharing some insights from my upcoming book, You Only Have To Ask! How to realize the full potential of Gen Z at work.
