Are you looking for a way to boost your cardiovascular health? Have you considered the power of Sauna therapy? A recent meta-analysis has shed light on the impressive benefits of sauna use, particularly for those with existing cardiovascular issues. The study, which draws from research conducted in Finland and other Scandinavian countries where sauna culture is prevalent, reveals that sauna sessions can not only prevent cardiovascular problems but also provide significant benefits for individuals already dealing with heart health concerns. Contrary to popular belief, engaging in sauna therapy may not put undue stress on your heart. In fact, the findings suggest that the more severe your cardiovascular condition, the more you stand to gain from regular sauna use. While this meta-analysis offers promising insights, it's always best to consult with your healthcare provider before incorporating sauna sessions into your wellness routine, especially if you have pre-existing health conditions. Embrace the heat and discover the potential of sauna therapy for your cardiovascular well-being. Who knew that sweating it out could be so good for your heart? #SaunaTherapy #CardiovascularHealth #HeatTherapy #WellnessRoutine #HealthyLiving https://lnkd.in/ea-iUiaA

Newest Publication. Teamed up with the venerable Prof Kobby Mensah, Dr Raphael Odoom, and Amin Ayarnah CMktr ♻️🌎 on this one. On this project, we explored the unhelpful social media commentaries that drowned authentic health information during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic and what should be done to curb such commentaries in the future. We also explored some gaps in the fake news and misinformation literature, particularly, those conducted on the pandemic, based upon which we created some future avenues for researchers interested in this area. In just 2 months since its commercial launch in China, Wakix(R) (pitolisant) has already made a significant impact by helping over 500 Chinese patients combat narcolepsy. This rapid progress mirrors the success seen in the US, where ~6,000 American patients now benefit from this innovative treatment, approved in 2019. Narcolepsy is a rare yet challenging disease that affects daily life in countless ways. The journey of Wakix in China is a testament to RareStone's commitment to bringing life-changing treatments to those affected by rare diseases. As Q1'24 draws to a close, we're filled with gratitude for what has been achieved and excitement for the promise Wakix holds. I extend my deepest thanks to the RareStone team for their outstanding contributions, to the healthcare professionals guiding patients every day, and to the patients themselves for their trust in us. The story of Wakix in China is just beginning. Together, we're not just tackling narcolepsy; we're opening doors to a future where every patient's potential can be fully realized. #Wakix #NarcolepsyAwareness #InnovationInMedicine #GlobalHealthcare #raredisease #China

A Sumatran orangutan named Rakus was spotted by scientists treating a wound on his face with a medicinal plant. Scientists believe the plant is Akar Kuning (Fibraurea tinctoria), a climbing vine known for its healing properties in traditional medicine. Rakus was seen chewing the leaves and stems of the plant and applying them to his wound. After about eight days of this self-treatment, his wound began to heal, and it completely recovered within a month. This is a fascinating example of how some animals use tools and potentially self-medicate. This truly highlights the intelligence and resourcefulness of orangutans. Follow me Diella Uka for more.
