I've been having lots of conversations with candidates recently who are really unhappy in their current role. While it may seem unconventional for a recruiter, recommending a change in role is not always the answer. Changing role is of course sometimes the solution to finding yourself happy in your role but there are many other things that can help you find fulfillment too. Our article below gives some fantastic suggestions on how to find the love for your career again. Noble Futures | Specialist Recruitment for the Animal and Agricultural Related Industries

Vivid and nearly catastrophic reminder of culture. A colleague was enthusiastically anticipating an exciting job offer. He, the American, met with the hiring manager, a German, who'd flown to the US specifically for a final interview. After a lengthy period of acquaintance and familiarity, hey agreed to terms. Great! Here's the wrinkle. The American interpreted the terms as salary plus bonus equals total. X + Y = Z. The German's offer, apparently customary there, was total comp is comprised of salary plus bonus. X = A + B. The X's were the same number, so you can imagine the disorientation and confusion that ensued. Even the best-prepared, best-intentioned professionals can miss a subtle detail. Fortunately, all were professional and experienced enough, good negotiators, that a revised offer was made and accepted. The importance of culture! These differences can be based on nationality, gender, age/generation, etc. Don't take them for granted! This story has a happy ending. As you negotiate, do your best to confirm yours will too! #animalhealth #pethealth #livestock #veterinarymedicine #negotiations #compensation #culture #culturalnorms #culturaldifferences #brakkeconsulting #brakkesearch #recruiter

Attention Applicants! Before applying for this exciting opportunity, take a moment to thoroughly review the job description and eligibility criteria. It's crucial to ensure alignment with your skills, experience, and passions. When it comes to Personal Statements on CVs the jury is out as to whether these are necessary, desirable or a complete waste of time. I, personally, like them. They help me get a sense of the person behind the CV. However, if you're writing a personal statement my strong recommendation is you make it meaningful and relevant to the job for which you're submitting your CV. Bland, generic full-of-cliche personal statements are meaningless and a waste of precious space on your CV. If you can't write a few (4 at the most) sentences detailing why you're the best person for the job, then don't write anything at all. Not sure what to write? Start with these: WHO YOU ARE: * Recent Massey / Wintec grad... looking for..... * Experienced Companion Animal vet with an interest in...... WHAT YOU CAN OFFER THE EMPLOYER: * list a couple of your top skills + evidence of these * make sure the skills you've listed match those they're looking for. WHAT YOUR CAREER GOALS ARE: * I'm looking to be part of....... * I'm looking to further my career so I can develop my ....... 🌟 One of the Best Reviews We've Ever Received! 🌟 We’re absolutely thrilled to share this incredible feedback from a candidate who has now become one of our valued clients. Their journey with The Animal People Recruitment Company has come full circle—from landing their dream role in the pet industry to trusting us with their recruitment needs. Here’s what they had to say: "If you're in the Pet Industry and you're not using The Animal People to either land a great job or fill your recruitment needs - you need to! Chris Whatling & Katie Fletcher at Animal People are not only some of the sweetest people you'll come across... they're experts in the art of matching ambitious candidates with top level employers. I'm fortunate enough to have experienced both sides of the proverbial recruitment coin. I was initially a hopeful candidate, on the prowl for the perfect role in the competitive pet food game. Now, as I write this review, I'm the Head of Direct Sales for one of the UK's top pet food brands. I recently relied on the brilliant team at The Animal People to help further staff our sales department... and yet again they exceeded expectations. I can't thank The Animal People enough for their attention to detail and the personal care they always take. Every email and phone call, no matter what side of the coin you're on, is professional and thoughtful. They genuinely care so much about everyone they work with, and for that I am forever grateful. Thank you Katie and Chris for everything." This is why we do what we do. Supporting candidates and businesses in the pet industry isn’t just our job—it’s our passion. 💜 🐾 Curious about what others have to say?
