In my previous post I raised the question if SDV is a good answer to the automotive challenges of today. I have got many comments and they were good. I mean good! Today I want to share the summary of these comments, because I find it quite insightful. Most comments confirmed that SDV is a good answer, but it requires something else to work in a practical world. What is it? 1. Innovation in the design & development process. 2. Org transformation to enable SDV. 3. Ecosystem & Collaboration: working closely with partners and making sure our teams have the right skills. 4. Open to the Global Ecosystem: IoT, Mobile Phones. 5. Right vehicle E/E architecture to allow SDV Simplified vehicle architecture with Zonal Controllers and Central Computer. 6. More diversity and personalization: — Some people want the latest and greatest tech in the new cars, — Some people want the raw driving experience, — Some people want more safety and security, — Entry level cost-effective SDV platforms are needed as well. 7. Continuous improvement and ability to deploy updates seamlessly. 8. Software can be reused on other vehicle platforms. 9. Improved process of quality assurance with early integration and virtual testing. 10. With quality, safety, security in mind. 11. With AI in its DNA. Nice list, isn’t it?
