Client Partner, Executive Search - Global Technology Industries & CIO/CTO Practice Leader at Korn Ferry
In Southeast Asia, Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) are fiercely competing in the Enterprise space by leveraging advanced technologies and innovative strategies. They are investing heavily in 5G networks to provide ultra-fast internet speeds and low latency connections, enabling businesses to adopt cutting-edge solutions like IoT, AI, and cloud computing. MNOs are also forming strategic partnerships with tech companies to offer comprehensive enterprise solutions, including cybersecurity, data analytics, and unified communication services. By focusing on digital transformation, MNOs aim to empower businesses in Southeast Asia to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital economy. Whilst technology advances rapidly and further investments are made, I cannot help but think more investment needs to be made in people and more can be done with what the MNO's already have. One example would be how MNO's have shifted from being almost 100% consumer focused organisations with fairly simple device/talkplans to sell, to now asking the same people to change their approach to a consultative solution sales approach with a new products and solutions such as Cloud, IoT, Cybersecurity, Private 4g/LTE networks, Network Slicing etc. Furthermore, I have observed a reluctance from technology enterprise sales leaders to advance their career and move to an MNO unless (amongst other things) there is a solid plan in place to reinvent the enterprise business, significant investment allocated, an upskilling programme in place for the current team and the autonomy to hire in several key people to help with capability building. MNO's have some great people, they are mostly trusted brands, they understand their customers well but yet, perhaps more can be done to improve their employer brand in the enterprise leadership community and more can be done to help their people advance their solution selling skillsets. #telecommunications #mobilenetworks #enterpriseleadership #leadership #organisationalconsulting #b2b #salesenablement #upskilling #salestraining #salesmethodology #learning #solutionsales #consultativeselling #kornferry #bemorethan

For the second edition of #MBAGoodReads, I came across an article on the impact of digital transformation on business models. It talks about how businesses across various industries are rapidly embracing digital transformation due to technological advancements. This shift has significantly influenced traditional business models in retail, manufacturing, and service-based sectors, driving businesses to adopt new models like freemium and SaaS. The opportunities with these new business models are endless... 🛍 The rise of e-commerce platforms is pushing retailers to constantly integrate emerging technologies into their operations. Online shopping is becoming more personalised thanks to AI and analytics that track customer shopping behaviours. 👩🏭 In manufacturing, digital incorporation requires large-scale investments for automation. The Internet of Things (IoT) is helping businesses set up smart factories and improve maintenance with predictive mechanisms, enhancing every step of the manufacturing value chain. 👩💻 SaaS platforms enjoy a more predictable revenue stream through subscriptions, making it easier for customers to adapt to flexible payment options tailored to their preferences. On the other side of the spectrum, digitally enabled business models need to be more careful when it comes to privacy and compliance. With cybercrime becoming more prominent, nearly 81% of SMEs face cybersecurity attacks, and the total cost of cybercrime in the UK economy is about £27 billion per year. Firms of all sizes are dealing with this issue, emphasising the need to enhance regulatory compliance and data protection while moving ahead with digital transformation. Businesses and their leaders must stay continuously aware of these changes and understand the risks and challenges associated with transforming any business model to ensure successful digital transformation. #DigitalTransformation #Technology #MBAGoodReads
