4th-12th May is Cleft Lip and Palate Awareness Week Did you know that one in 700 babies is born with a cleft? That’s three every day in the UK! A cleft can happen in any pregnancy, even with no family history. It can have an impact on hearing, speaking, teeth, feeding and more. Many children born with a cleft go on to need extensive dental and orthodontic work, so keeping their teeth clean and healthy is extra important. Misconceptions around cleft lip and palate can make it hard for the people affected to get the support they need at difficult times. This Awareness Week, CLAPA have shared advice on how to support the people affected by cleft in your life. Learn more about supporting people affected by cleft lip and palate at CLAPA.com/CleftAware https://lnkd.in/eBxKRryR #CleftAware https://lnkd.in/eBxKRryR

Do you #kNOwCMV? We're calling on all professionals, particularly those who work with children and expectant mothers to get to #kNOwCMV as part of our new campaign to spread awareness of cytomegalovirus (CMV) - a common, yet little known about virus which can cause serious health issues for your baby if passed on during pregnancy and to those people with weakened immune systems. Knowledge is power! It's important to understand the risks and preventative measures you can take in the workplace to help safeguard yourself and your colleagues. #kNOwCMV #CMVAwareness #CMVAction #maternalhealth #childcareprovider #pregnantwomen #virusprotection #stopcmv

This week is Babyloss Awareness Week (https://lnkd.in/eUMqUsuQ) a time to honor and remember the lives that have been lost too soon and the families who continue to grieve. This cause holds deep significance for many— whether we've personally experienced the heartbreak of child loss or know someone who has. For families navigating the loss of a baby, the emotional toll can be immense. As several of you who know me will know, it was for me and my wife. But what’s more heartbreaking is how often these experiences are met with silence. Babyloss Awareness Week helps break that silence, fostering community, understanding, and crucial support for those affected. By raising awareness and supporting families through their grief, we can ensure no one has to walk this journey alone. I encourage you to visit Babyloss Awareness Week to learn more about how you can contribute to this cause, from spreading awareness to making a donation that supports families in need of resources, care and a bit of love. Together, we can make a difference. Every bit of compassion helps. 💙💖 The charity SANDS really helped me and my wife after our daughter was stillborn and after our miscarriage. Therefore i wanted to share the donation link here in the event that anyone was interested (https://lnkd.in/eWsJhn7G). Please do share this post (as you feel comfortable) to spread awareness. #BabylossAwarenessWeek #BreakTheSilence #SupportFamilies #RememberingTheBabies #PregnancyAndInfantLoss

In two weeks Monica is heading to Salt Lake City to speak at the Heartbeat International conference. Heartbeat International is an association of thousands of pregnancy resource centers (PRCs). During their annual conference, they offer affiliates detailed training on running a successful PRC. The conference is massive, with thousands of in-person and virtual attendees. The conference is so popular, in fact, that Heartbeat doesn't need to solicit presenters. Instead, pro-life speakers apply to present months in advance. It's a competitive process, with Heartbeat choosing from among hundreds of applications. We're proud to say this year SPL was approved! So on April 24, Monica will be giving part of SPL's Building Bridges presentation to PRC staff and volunteers. Specifically she'll discuss how to build connection and have useful conversations with Americans who are ambivalent on the abortion issue. She's given the full presentation to PRC staff in the past with resounding success. While some speaking engagements are paid, this one isn't, and the conference doesn't cover travel costs for presenters. Instead it's because of your support that we're able to (1) increase SPL's visibility with the pregnancy help side of the pro-life movement and (2) train more PRC folks on how to do effective outreach in an increasingly secular culture. Travel expenses (flight, hotel) have amounted to less than $800. If you'd like to help with these costs, please donate here: https://ow.ly/tieu50RbNNp

Surreal sitting down with Nikki Battiste of CBS Mornings for their segment on the accessibility (or lack thereof) of fertility care in the US. In it, Nikki and I, along with some of Cofertility's members, dive into how limited pathways to affordable reproductive care are hindering family-building for individuals across the country, and how our innovative egg sharing model is expanding access to this essential care. At Cofertility, we’re firm believers that everyone who wishes to be a parent should be able to pursue parenthood on their own terms and timelines. With cost being the #1 roadblock for most individuals in need of care, we’re proud to be building an alternative path not just for hopeful parents who are seeking care now, but also for women proactively planning for their future family-building goals. Check out the full segment below!! #Cofertility #EggSharing #ReproductiveAccess #PathwaysToParenthood #CBS #InnovationInFertility #InclusiveCare https://lnkd.in/eKrWbmDH

In the wake of rulings that confine the scope of reproductive healthcare, the impact on women’s autonomy is profound. Restrictions on IVF not only limit a woman’s choice in family planning but also set a precedent that personal health decisions could be dictated by outdated interpretations of law. It's imperative that we advocate for the right to access comprehensive reproductive healthcare, including IVF, without oppressive legal barriers. Let’s protect our choices, our families, and our futures. https://ow.ly/B7nV50QKsAi #IA4HL #Iowans4HealthLiberty #HealthcareFreedom #ReproductiveRights #abortionishealthcare #abortionrights #WomensRights #Donate #JoinUs

Erin Andrews recently awarded a grant through the nonprofit, BABY QUEST FOUNDATION INC, to support a deserving couple on their path to parenthood. Continued efforts like this play a large part in creating an open dialogue around infertility and family building. The process of building a family is complex and requires a village. We are so proud of our client partner Reckitt – especially the Enfamil Enspire Optimum team - for their ongoing support of initiatives like these, ensuring that everyone can realize their dreams of parenthood. A special thank you to the Today Show for shining a light on the highs and lows of infertility. We hope this story inspires more individuals to speak out and find the support they need.

WHO ARE THE BABIES TREATED AT BRIGID'S PATH? The babies are from every socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, and culture. They treat any babies with prenatal drug exposure from illegal or prescribed substances. Babies do not have to go through medicated withdrawal to be cared for by the team at Brigid's Path. They treat babies from throughout the entire state of Ohio. WHY IS BRIGID'S PATH NECESSARY? Brigid's Path offers different services for moms and babies than any other place. They focus on providing a home-like, comfortable environment. They focus on both medicinal and nonpharmacological care: 🍼Small and frequent feedings 💗Low stimulation 👩🏽🍼Constant rocking and cuddling 🧷Immediate diaper changes 💗Meeting every physical need of these babies as quickly as possible Rather than just focusing on only the medical needs of the babies, we're able to provide them care for a longer time than most hospitals; some of the families are there for 90 days. Brigid's Path is a space where families feel safe and at-ease. Share this post if you know now a family who could benefit from Brigid's Path. Sometimes, we don't know who is struggling around us.
