I was in a unique position last spring as a successful advocate for change at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, leveraging AI in strategic ways to save time and close the gap on my lack of experience. But as summer came I faced the challenge of passing the torch. How could we preserve our knowledge for future generations of advocates with so many of us graduating? It turns out we could clone ourselves. Kind of. Not only did AI help us write a playbook of detailing our strategies of influence (thanks Anthropic), but it allowed us to create institutional intelligence through adaptable, custom GPTs. Even a simple example shows how a revolutionary this is: Instead of writing a lengthy section of the playbook on crafting the perfect note to administrators, I trained a GPT with our expertise. Now, future student advocates don't need to be incredible writers - they have an AI copilot to guide them through the process. What began as a project for the next generation of Jewish advocates at UW-Madison quickly evolved into something I knew I had to share more broadly. We need to lower the barriers to advocacy for Jewish students and community members. That's why I'm excited to introduce Maccabee.ai
Have you witnessed antisemitism on campus? Stop waiting for a miracle to happen. Stand up like a Maccabee. We're launching Maccabee.ai today so everyone can be a campus advocate. ⬇️ See it in action ⬇️

🌍 Today is the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery!! At Solsken Limited, we believe in dignity, respect, and freedom for all. On this important day, we stand with global efforts to end all forms of modern slavery, including forced labor, human trafficking, and exploitation. 🔹 Did you know? Over 50 million people are affected by modern slavery worldwide. These practices strip individuals of their basic rights and freedoms—and it’s happening in every corner of the globe. We’re committed to raising awareness and supporting the fight against these injustices. Together, we can create a world where everyone is free to live with dignity and respect. 💙 Let’s take a moment to reflect, share, and act. What steps can we take today to contribute to this vital cause? #InternationalDayForTheAbolitionOfSlavery #HumanRights #DignityForAll #Solsken

Paul Kagamer once said "Freedom is not a gift, it's a responsibility. You have to work for it, you have to fight for it, and you have to protect it." This means that everyone has a responsibility to fight for his or her freedom. Today and everyday we encourage everyone to be responsible in promoting and protecting their liberties. What have you been doing this week to promote individual freedoms? Share your thoughts about how best can we promote individual freedoms in your communities. Let's discuss in the chat box. #SFLOVE #educate #develop #empower #StudentsForLibertyZimbabwe

What if we stopped being activists and became "effectivists" instead? As in moving away from "pushing back" and toward "pushing forward"? That's the challenge that the most excellent Nate Hagens offers in his latest podcast that discusses "The Battles of Our Time" (link in the comments.) It's a provocative listen that offers a lot of interesting lenses on this moment, but the idea that "activism" as we know it isn't working really struck me. Here's a snip: "Appealing to the better angels of our nature will only ever reach a few percent of our population. And the rest are hungry, ambitious apes. And so I think to tell people all the truth and [to try to] expand the truth to 8 billion humans, the result is the same as do you train a thousand sheep or do you educate and inspire one border collie? [We need to be] pro-social, pro-future, pro-planetary border collies, because activism on the issues of the day has not worked." Please listen to get the full context, but I think you get the idea. As I've been thinking about this idea, it feels like being an "effectivist" doesn't mean solving the problems as much as it means creating the conditions for people to engage deeply in truth-telling and then helping to collectively build their capacities to be better able to navigate complexity and, perhaps, collapse. To shepherd, in Hagen's terms, or, in Margaret Whitley's framing, to lead in ways that create "islands of sanity" where we can lean on the best of what it means to be human and put taking care of one another and the planet at the forefront. Of course, it would be great if schools could take on that role of, as Gary Stager, Ph.D. often says, "standing between the kids and the madness." (That requires we acknowledge our own contributions to the madness, however.) And that they could be "effectivist" in helping kids get ready for what is coming at us. (Fair to say that schools as sheep kinda fits here?) So, yeah, anyway, I'm thinking of what it would look like to be a border collie for these times. You? #education #schools #schooling #future

The Compass of Politics. Title: "why the world's needs you to get involved?" Explanation: Political Activism, It's about taking action to make difference on issues that matter whether that's supporting a cause, protesting, or working on a campaign. Without people like you stepping up, the world misses out on your voice and your unique perspectives. when you stay on the sidelines, the loudest voices end up calling the shot, and that's not always the good thing. you deserve to have a say in how things run. political will or activism is not about being perfect. it's about showing up and doing what you can and research the issues. find your people and get creative about making change. # share your cause # your voice matters your power #ignite change # stayed informed

🌍 The conversation around systems change is incomplete without exploring solutions. The current system—#neoliberal, #colonial, #extractive, and #patriarchal - must be transformed. But what should the new system look like? For me, it’s about putting people at the heart of our efforts. This means ensuring that the dignity and rights of every individual are upheld and protected. This is the foundation of the new system. In my recent talk, I outline the system we long for and must co-create together. Here’s a snippet, and you can watch the full video on my YouTube channel! 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dBZPRVTV #SystemsChange #SocialJustice #DignityForAll #CoCreation #ActionAid

Supporting humanity means embracing kindness, empathy, and action to uplift one another. It calls for standing together in times of need, sharing resources, and fostering opportunities for growth and equality. By advocating for justice, protecting the vulnerable, and caring for our planet, we create a foundation for a thriving, harmonious future. Each act of generosity and understanding strengthens the bonds that unite us, reminding us that the progress of humanity depends on the compassion we extend to each other.
