Which sponsor was the most visible during #EURO2024? The tournament is still ongoing, but we already have the first insights to share with you. BYD, Qatar Airways, Atos, Hisense ... We trained our AI to track all 13 global sponsors for brand exposure during the tournament's group stage. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫: 1) Which sponsor was most visible? 2) Do brands use 'prime times' during matches? 3) Are there other ways to get exposure than LED boards? 🔥Hot Take: The 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony – A Bold Move with Mixed Results 🔥 With a luminous robotic horse gliding across the Seine, a French Marie Antoinette muppet show meets Mad Max performance, and Celine Dion singing on the Eiffel Tower, the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony aimed high. Yet, a little over a week later, why does it feel flat? The concept of immersing global audiences within the city rather than in a massive arena was innovative. This approach eliminated the need for a new (typically controversial) complex and aimed to capture the city's heartbeat. However, it all comes down to the reality of putting on production within a bustling city, and many factors can compromise the result: Stage vs. Live-TV: When it comes to choreographing a massive live event for broadcasting, the choreographer, camera operators, and the TV Director must work hand in hand to plot out the best staging & shot list to bring the artistic vision to life and best shape or form for the billions of people watching on their screens. Unfortunately, this was a missed opportunity for Paris 2024, as the performances often looked messy, and essential choreography elements weren’t captured right. Physical Limitations: The physical limitations of placing enough cameras in an urban environment impacted the ability to capture the event's energy in its full glory. Coordination Issues: Because of these physical limitations, rolling from pre-recorded segments to live footage requires immense coordination. The transitions felt disjointed, disrupted the ceremony's flow, and stripped it of energy. Missed Connection: While they captured the physical presence of Paris, they missed the heart and purpose of the Olympics—to unify the top athletes from 204 countries on one stage. The joy on the athletes' faces while cruising on the Seine or even capturing your favorite superstar athletes from various countries was lost in translation due to the sheer distance and lack of access camera crews had. Takeaway: Hats off to Paris for a refreshing approach to the Opening Ceremony. Grand ideas can be groundbreaking, but there's a lot at stake. We love pushing boundaries and exploring never-before-seen approaches, but you must ensure you cover all your bases and give the audience what they want to see! #Paris2024 #Olympics #OpeningCeremony #Innovation #EventProduction #LessonsLearned
