Where are the suitable candidates for hotels jobs ? ↙️↙️↙️ A noticeble trend amongst my industry colleagues is that we are all seemingly not finding suitable candidates to job in our hotels What’s is the problem ? What need to be done ? I have a few ideas 💡 1) Revive our Networking sessions. Talk about the talent that is available and share CV’s of suitable candidates looking for hotel jobs. 2) Industry needs to place a stronger emphasis on succession planning. We must grow the talent within. There are people looking for jobs but no longer an abundance of top talent that is available and accessible organically , hence the need to grow the talent within. 3) Combat any negativity surrounding the hospitality profession. We know how great of an industry we have and the career options on offer. Over the past few weeks, I Have been reading and listening to a lot of Senior and Veteran Hoteliers talking about : 1. Attritions been very high. 2. Not getting the right employees with the right attitude. I also see employers posting vacancies: 1. Through multiple sources for 1 particular position 2. Vacancies' that are already closed internally, but posted, as they are following the process of recruitment. As a result the Human Resource Department is: 1. Flooded with resumes. 2. Referrals or CFBR criteria been stronger than actual resumes received This may be true in many industries, however I am talking particularly about Hotels.
