And THIS is why — friends, #controversial or opposing #beliefs that may go against your own are JUST as #significant to report in the #news. That means, the people involved are ALSO as significant to talk to to get that side of the #story. You can’t expect them NOT to #expose you like this and act as if your side of reporting is the only side that exists. And frankly, it does kind of sound like important information is being fabricated even though you’re simply “factually reporting what you like to talk about”… …Okay but we’re NOT #motivational speakers or bloggers about our interests or others that relate to YOU [upcoming journalists], we’re meant to be TRUTHFUL and FACTUAL speakers. Please, remind upcoming journalists about this…reporting isn’t just about the side that you feel most comfortable with. If there’s an opposing side involved in the story, YOU HAVE TO put those pieces together…sorry! It’s so important to get out of your comfort zone as journalists. Sorry for being so upfront, but we need the right people to start #reporting from here on out in the #media, no joke! We can go through the #evolution of #journalism together, BUT that can only happen if the media starts to REDEFINE the definition of what it means to be an “expert” or “professional” as a journalist… In all honesty, I fear for other upcoming journalists. Some things are missing that I feel can be said (upcoming videos soon)! But, mistakes or errors are often the ways we learn best, instead of continuously relying on others to teach us. That's not to insult anyone, just that we're all learning together at this point. Even if you became a journalist 30-40+ years ago...we still have to get out there much more than before, mostly because technology isn't slowing down anytime soon, I'm sure. Especially for us. We can avoid this type of mess with higher #authority in the future if we can just expand our minds a litttlee bit more when reporting any #story (especially political…).😊
