My argument is founded less on social justice and a “be nice to Black people” posture, and more about the economic reality that this country will need to maintain monetary and fiscal policy, and our geopolitical footing.
Black and brown people are already the global majority and will soon be the majority in the US. It is unconscionable to disinvest in the very population you need the most. Our inability to recognize/acknowledge the particular marginalization, muting, stunting a diminishment, as a matter of policy and structure, that has only happened to people of color in our country, and seek to remediate the same, will destroy us all… white people too!
