The energy, collaboration, and exchange of ideas were truly inspiring. It's always rewarding to see how empowering our teams can drive impact and help shape a culture of growth, feedback and support. Excited to bring these insights back and continue pushing the boundaries of what's possible. #Teamwork #Enablement #Leadership #GrowthMindset

Is the Silverstone Grand Prix just about speed and adreniline? Not at all.....the British Grand Prix significantly benefits the #northamptonshire economy.....and here’s why: 💷 The race attracts over 400,000 spectators during the weekend, filling local hotels, campsites, and B&B's. Visitors spend on accommodation, meals, and entertainment, providing a substantial boost to the hospitality sector - Whittlebury Park and the new Hilton Garden Inn Silverstone for example 🍔 Pubs, restaurants, and shops near the circuit experience increased footfall....from merchandise sales to food and beverages, businesses thrive during the event, our local pub which is just a few miles from the circuit will be full. 🏎️ The area has become the epi-centre of the motor-racing industry and supply-chains, with a huge talent-pool of engineers, designers, manufacturing businesses and professional firms, all providing high-tech, highly skilled jobs - for example the Catesby Projects facility near #Daventry 🧑 The Grand Prix creates temporary jobs for local residents, including security, catering, and event staff - of all ages, and provides a great experience. 🛣️ The race drives infrastructure improvements......roads (like the A43 link from M40 to M1), parking facilities, and utilities (including a great local internet backbone) enhancing the region’s overall appeal. 🚀 The event receives global media coverage, showcasing Northamptonshire’s scenic beauty and cultural heritage..........attracting future tourists and investors - the members of the Silverstone Technology Cluster being a great example. 🍾🍾 The event fosters community pride and engagement. Locals participate in festivities, volunteer, and celebrate - this year its #kingsofleon. 📈 So the British Grand Prix isn’t just about speed and adrenaline; it fuels economic #growth, supports local businesses, and strengthens community bonds. Its great to be at the heart of all this at #towcester Business Buzz - Local Business Networking. The picture of #nigelmansells F1 winning car was from the reception at Canon Europe where I spent a couple of years of my career. #growth #silverstone #grandprix #businessowner

Heat Island Effect continues to worsen as the atmosphere warms and increasing urban heat due to sunlight reflecting of many surfaces and compacting thermal radiation. Impervious urban surfaces prevent atmospheric ground to air cooling causing rising stagnant heat from tall urban buildings blocking the wind. Heightened in reporting of these affects were measured as early as the 1800s. This is in direct relation to rapid coal mining for heating in this time period, a dirty and deadly greenhouse gas emitter and devastating to physical health. In this experience it causes social, mental, and physical distress. However, there is a change to this. As seen here with Montreal. Adding more ground soil to coverage allows absorption of urban water runoff and lowers air and ground pollution. Toronto's own plans also add to this with its Green Roof initiative, Greenbelt in the GTA region, and LEEDS building design with low reflective glass panels to lower urban wildlife loss. This helps attract beneficial animal species like birds and pollinating insects. The adjunct role greening urban areas promote improved mental and physical health of urban citizens. Living near plants releases dopamine and trees provide shade from sweltering summer heat, creating a healthy, symbiotic relationship. We’ve spent a lot of time in the last couple of months on our indexing and analysis systems so the amount of human effort needed to get sufficient market coverage was massively reduced compared to Bath. It’s a really interesting challenge trying to balance detail with accuracy and repeatability, pipelining the analysis to use cheaper models where possible, and even (gasp!) using good old hardcoded heuristics for places where we don’t need AI.
🎉 Today we launch our in our second Jitty citty, Bristol ⚓🍎🐻 Bristol is a beautiful place, full of beautiful homes. Try it out, tag any friends who live in Bristol, and as always let us know any feedback. We launched our second city roughly 4x quicker than our first, which we're proud of given that it's about 5x bigger. We’re ramping up the speed, so we're looking forward to announcing more cities soon. ✌️🏡 Photo credit to Martyna Bober on Unsplash 📸

Goodness, a world away, a lifetime ago – but oh what an experience to learn and analyse the ecosystem of an outstanding customer experience provider. From back of house, through the service line to front of house and the systems and procedures in between – I feel lucky to have had a taste of this glorious playground and how each and every touch-point can create a memorable moment! I remember writing a report about my time at Gleneagles – a study requirement to complete your practical. Not only was it reflective on my personal learnings there, but it was an observation about an ecosystem of care. Care for their customers, staff, the environment and wider community. Gleneagles operational excellence was wrapped around their total quality management in practice, with a focus on continuous improvement. ISO qualified and committed to the very best standards, yet relaxed, welcoming, warm and well, glorious! These foundations are still invaluable to formulating true human-led CX today. Blending technology, storytelling, service design and culture. Invaluable parts to a wholistic CX ecosystem, no matter your seniority or skill set. I still can't recommend enough how hospitality experience can inform and enrich real-time understanding of real customer needs, empathy, emotion, pressure and expectations in the flesh. If you want to explore more about their commitment today, check out their impact here for a taste of how they define their glorious: gleneagles.com/our-impact What a legacy to own 100 years on - here's to 100 more! 🙏 👏🥂🍾🦅🚂💨⛳️
100 Years of The Glorious Playground 🥂 100 years ago on this day, the 7th June 1924, we opened the doors to The Gleneagles Hotel. Our magnificent countryside estate in the heart of Scotland was described as a “Riviera in the Highlands” and the media hailed it “the eighth wonder of the world”. Cocktails poured from taps; lively dancing in our ballroom was broadcast across the nation on BBC radio; glamorous guests raced each other by land, air and sea to get here first; and princes, playwrights and poets spent entire summers on our croquet lawn in a haze of Champagne. Going into 2024 as a multi-award winning estate, we reflect on our history, spanning high times and wartimes and look towards the next 100 years alongside our inaugural Edinburgh home, Gleneagles Townhouse. Gleneagles beats with a warm heart and is a home from home – a welcoming place where our people and guests feel they truly belong. On our 100th Anniversary we thank everyone who has been part of our story so far, and our story still to come. #LoveGlen #TheGloriousPlayground

📣 Dublin Hospitality Sector Unites: Time for Change! As costs soar and businesses across Dublin struggle to keep their doors open, we at Yamamori are joining the call for action. Rising operational expenses are hitting the hospitality sector, a cornerstone of Dublin's vibrant culture. On October 15th, we’re standing with our fellow businesses to protest against unsustainable costs that are putting the future of our industry at risk. 🔴 What’s Happening? Skyrocketing costs—rent, energy, supplies—are making it increasingly difficult for restaurants, bars, and cafes to stay afloat. These pressures not only threaten jobs but also impact the amazing experiences we love bringing to our community. 💡 Why It Matters For local businesses like us, the current cost environment isn’t just a challenge—it’s unsustainable. Every menu you enjoy, every event you attend, and every meal we prepare depends on the balance between quality and affordability. Without relief, we may lose the heart of what makes Dublin’s hospitality scene so special. 🙌 Support Your Local! We’re asking our community to stand with us. This isn’t just about businesses—it’s about protecting the livelihoods of thousands of workers and ensuring that Dublin’s hospitality scene thrives. If you care about your favourite local spots, join us in raising your voice. Let’s work together for a sustainable future. 🔗 More Info https://lnkd.in/eHu2zenG #SupportHospitality #DublinProtest #TimeForChange #YamamoriCares
