There are three main reasons for privacy and data protection. That most people have heard of, but don’t care too much. Do you care about them? The main reasons are: 1) During the pandemic the cybercrime complaints rose over 300% per day, with a total loss of $ 10,3 billion. (According to FBI Statistics) We can’t ignore cybercrime and data breaches anymore. 2) There are many reports that users get manipulated and influenced to achieve a certain outcome that’s beneficial to a specific party. Most of the data gets collected from users without their legal consent. (Cambridge Analytica) It’s something different if you bought a fidget you didn’t need or your elections are getting fixed. 3) Although it’s in the name of our security, countless programs are running right now all over the world that are spying on ordinary people. (Edward Snowden) Getting scored by the government can cause a hard life if you are just a bit out of the norm. Everybody should be interested in their own online privacy and demand data protection. In the United States, there is no national, statutory, cross-sector minimum standard for information security.
