Our first-ever internship program was a massive success. 🎉 Here’s what we did that made it great: ✅Hire the best. We put a lot of time and energy into finding and interviewing awesome candidates. Part of what makes Partner Forces the best is our ability to hire and retain top talent. 📰Offer diverse experience. Our interns touched multiple client projects and corporate activities, making for a diverse and meaningful experience and some solid additions to their resumes! A group favorite was our collaboration with Black Girls CODE. 📅Plan well. Mary Jo Finley planned the interns’ experience down to the letter, strategically mapping out opportunities based on their strengths and interests before their first day. 🎉Have an in-person kickoff and onboarding. Meeting in person on day one allowed us to share the full Partner Forces culture, created energy, and opened the door for questions, clarity, and communication, setting the interns up for success. 👯♀️Have dedicated co-leads. You need people dedicated to running the program. Bonus points if they’re as awesome as Emma P. and you get to have a ton of fun while working. 😉 😊Offer mentorship. We paired our interns with seasoned Partner Forces team members who served as buddies, guides, mentors, and coaches. ☎Communicate. A lot. There’s no such thing as too much communication. We met with the interns every Monday for a check-in and chatted several times throughout the week, but we also regularly met with their mentors, program (client work) leads, and corporate activity leads. 📝Collect feedback. Create an environment conducive to feedback so you can iterate the internship experience as you go. What made your internships great when you were the intern or when you’ve run internships in your workplace?

A huge thank you to our summer interns, Andre Brown and Ella Taylor! For ten weeks, they dedicated countless hours to learning about Partner Forces and the critical missions we serve. From developing new tools to planning educational events and conducting research on some of today’s biggest security challenges, they have certainly made a lasting #impact on our workforce. Wishing you all the best in the next phase of your professional careers and hoping our paths cross again in the future! And thank you to our 2023 intern program coordinators Kelley Sanabria and Emma P.! #consulting #intern #govcon #team #thankyou
