🚨 BEAT CHOKING IN SECONDS WITH THIS ⤵️ How To Perform Chest Thrusts On a Choking Child. Chest thrusts are the second part of choking first aid on a child, as they follow back slaps (✨ see reel from 2 days ago!) For chest thrusts, use two fingers (infant) or the heel of one hand (age 1-8 years) Place in the centre of the chest between the nipples, and give a short sharp push down, approx ⅓ of the depth of the chest. This is similar to CPR but slower. Between chest thrusts, check the child’s mouth. If the child still remains the same, turn them back over and commence back blows again. Continue to alternate 5 back blows and 5 chest thrusts until the child recovers or emergency services arrive. If a child stops breathing at any time, commence CPR. "What Should Be In A Family First Aid Kit? | Childhealthy London" This information is key. Many families don't even have a real First Aid Kit. not even one. It is not a question to run to the bathroom and get what is there.I can assure you might not have what is needed. This is a serious matter, it can help save a life, as well as to be trained in a First Aid Course. The best is the Red Cross Course. Every family should have a well equipped kit and the location and how to used known to all, plus have at hand who to call, besides if needed ,911 for USA and the corresponding numbers for other countries. ( In Developing countries in most there is no such a thing) So be prepared, the best motto: Prevention and Preparedness

First Aid Skills How important is it for a child caregiver or domestic worker to possess first aid skills? Have you ever experienced a situation with your child where you felt that an issue could have been prevented if the caregiver had first aid training? Many accidents and incidents that occur when our children are under the care of caregivers can be effectively managed if the caregiver is equipped with the necessary first aid skills. Consider scenarios such as choking, inserting beads in the ears or nose, drowning, falls, fractures, and grazes. What measures are we taking to ensure that timely and appropriate interventions are available right in our homes?

94% of Australians said they would feel unsure of what to do in a first aid emergency. 😬 This statistic is a little sad and to be honest quite frightening. ⠀⠀ The health, safety and well-being of our family, friends and loved ones is important to us all. 🚑💼 Earlier this week I attended a free 3-hour training from the Medic One Foundation on CPR/AED and First Aid Training. In moments of crisis, every second counts. While dialing 911 remains crucial, as responsible community members, we can play a vital role by equipping ourselves with fundamental skills to aid in emergencies. In just a few hours you can learn important skills related to: CPR and AEDs: Understand the difference between sudden cardiac arrest and heart attacks to dispel common misconceptions about CPR. In person classes provide hands-on experience in life-saving techniques for adults, children, and infants, including practical sessions with training manikins and AEDs. First Aid: Gain indispensable skills to address medical emergencies before professional responders arrive – covering everything from basic first aid principles to managing specific scenarios such as trauma and environmental crises. I encourage others to learn about free courses in your community.
