I GOT PRANKED BY MY STUDENTS ON DAY 1! Three students showed up for our first lecture "in costume!" In addition to my Product-Safety and System-Safety courses, I teach an Industrial-Safety course. These young men took that to heart and organized what you see on the first day of class. I wasn't sure what to make of it when they came in. I only found out what was going on during a break. A select group of Crown Cork and Seal employees completed a Pneumatics and Hydraulics course offered through Northeastern Technical College. The pneumatic and hydraulic course was designed to equip students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to design, operate, and maintain fluid power systems effectively in various industrial settings. #NETC #Trailblazers

SM-1403 Hooke’s Law This apparatus’ main purpose is to investigate the behavior of a mass on a spring in order to study Hook’s Law and simple harmonic motion. Your aim is to measure the stiffness of a particular spring. According to Hook’s Law, the spring’s extension within the body’s elastic limit is directly proportional to the applied load. The device consists of a helical spring suspended along a scale attached to a metal rod. The spring’s opposite end is unattached. On its free end are a hanger and a pointer. The elastic behavior of components, where deformation is proportional to the load placed upon them, is described by Hooke’s Law. When metals are subjected to light loads, this behavior is normal. The Hooke’s law device demonstrates how tension springs deform when loaded. A spring is suspended from a stand and pressed down by a weight for this function. The length is immediately read off of a scale. Hooke’s Law can be used because it is demonstrated that the active force and the elongation of the spring have a linear connection. With the The Automatic Door Installation Association now released and pushing Diplomas I wanted to get your thoughts on the : Time Served vs Qualifications in Engineering : THE DEBATE🤔 This has long been a debate within the engineering industry. This debate is of significant importance as it directly impacts the competence and professionalism of engineers. Of course there is 100% Pros to both sides. From my side I can see where the positives of Qualifications in engineering come into play, such as: 📚 - Solid foundation of knowledge and skills that are essential for success - Formal education and training plans allow for a deep gaining of understanding problem solving and theoretical principles - Engineers meet a certain standard of competence and professionalism which enables safety and reliability of engineering performance Pros to Time spent experience: 🔩 - Time served engineers develop a unique set of skills and expertise through hands-on experience in real-world settings.  - Often adept at problem-solving, critical thinking, and the practical application of engineering principles. - Providing different perspectives and insights which can not be developed through 'classroom training' I think the Door, Gate & Barrier industry plays a vital part in the day to day life of people, which is a continuous sub-conscious wheel.
