This summer, join Western Landowners Alliance CEO Lesli Allison and Ranchlands CEO Duke Phillips on the Paintrock Canyon Ranch for a week (June 30 - July 5, 2024) of exploring the incredibly varying landscape as well as the complexities surrounding the past, present, and future of ranching in the western United States. Together, Lesli and Duke will lead this weeklong workshop in important conversations about ranching and conservation. Each morning will be spent riding or hiking through the meadows and canyons on the ranch and each afternoon we will take a seat at the table for discussions about ranching and conservation. How does ranching achieve conservation and why is it important? What are the challenges the ranching industry is facing today and how do we overcome them? So this week, I have been visited by two Colleagues from the College Of Policing. We spent several hours with myself, firstly giving a presentation on the LEAD, (Local Environmental Awareness on Dogs), Initiative. Then I was asked numerous questions about LEAD, why, when, who, what, how......which were all answered. All with the purpose of submitting LEAD forward on to the CoP Website as 'Smarter Practice.' One of the Officers even declared that when they returned to their force, Dyfed-Powys. That they will be pushing for LEAD to be implemented across their area. #LEAD

The BLM hosts this film, showing a success story on overcoming natural resource conflicts in the Klamath River Basin through collaboration between government agencies and stakeholders. It is part of the "Human Conflict" series and explores the divisions between farming, ranching, tribal and environmental communities and the ways individuals have come together to pursue collaborative solutions. The future of the Hunter's deepwater international gateway unlocked. Advocacy attention now on reform of the NSW Freight and Ports policy to ensure a competitive, level playing field for the Port of Newcastle moving forward. As with all public consultation processes, Committee members invited to contribute to our submission to the Freight Policy Reform Consultation Paper or encouraged to provide your own. The Blueberry River First Nations (BRFN) has filed a Notice of Civil Claim against B.C. with respect to the Gundy Plan, which is the first implementation plan under the precedent-setting Blueberry River First Nations Implementation Agreement (the BRFN Agreement). The claim alleges that the Gundy Plan was made contrary to the parties’ understandings, commitments, and obligations in the BRFN Agreement.
