Before bringing it inside, give it a little haircut and treat it with neem oil to prevent pests. Also, water it thoroughly to flush out any critters hiding in the soil. A systemic granule can also help eliminate unwanted guests. Inside, place your coleus in a bright room, and it will thrive all winter long. Remember to water your outdoor plants, especially during cold snaps. Hydrated plants are much more resilient to chilly temperatures. And for those who want to enjoy evergreens like the Black Hills Spruce in containers, choose a large pot to al-low for growth.
